The first thing to check is to be sure the outlet is not on an outlet with a GFCI or AFCI. Those are protection devices that are used in unfinished areas or wet areas like bathrooms and kitchens. Electrcians can wire outlets some distance away from the actual device (AFCI or GFCI) and when it trips you cannot tell without looking for it. To tell if that is the case in an outlet, there are two buttons on the outlet with R and T on them. R means reset and T means test. Press the R on the outlet to reset it. If that does not change the situation, look in the breaker box for those ACFI and GFCI devices to be incorporated into a breaker and be sure that they are not tripped. IF that is not the case and no ACFI or GFCI is present, then you need to locate the circuit breaker for the outlet that you are working on AND SHUT IT OFF. Once this is done you can remove the cover plate on the outlet and then the screws holding the outlet. Pull the outlet from the box and check the wires. IF the wires appear ok, you need to see where that outlet connects to. THis connection can be to another outlet in the same room of it may connect to the box and the ceiling where the light is located. You need to check for all the connections in the celing box and look at the wire nut that the electricians use to be sure the connections are good. In some cases the connections can come loose and the outlet fails.

Do csa pellet stoves need a dedicated recepticle

They do not if they are manufactured with an electric plug in for a recepticle. Just make sure that the unit does not draw more than 15 amps.

The oven has a digital mode for the temperature and timer. However, it shuts down by itself on temps higher than 350º in 30-50 minutes. If it is on a higher temp, like 400-450º, it will shut...

The ribbin connection terminal betweenth control board and the display is losing electrical connection with heat. Try pushing the ribboin connectors deeper into the recepticles on both the display and the conrol board.

It may just be that the ribbon electrical strip itself is failing at temp and separating. You should be able to go to a serious elctronics supply store / maybe even radio shack and get a ribbon strip that you can cut to length and install. Ask for assistance as you also may need to make adapters on both ends of the ribbon to go from ribbon recepticles to PCB recepticles. MUCH cheaper than P2500 / $200 US for sure.

White neutral wire on 110v recepticle burnt, 3 rooms on this fuse is it the recepticle or an overload.

This has to be the gfi, They are designed to kick out at the slightest hint of of a short or power to ground. I personally have had a few bad experiences with the 15 amp GFI recepticles, and have upgraded to an industrial style 20 amp model which is still acceptable for code here. Check your local electrical codes before doing this, and make sure it is the first recepticle in the circuit.

My GE cycle dryer came without wire to plug in. What right wire do I need to buy and how do I hook up it?

Dryers and Ranges are not sold with power cords. The reason being you may have a 3 prong recepticle (original) or a 4 prong recepticle (new construction or remodel). Check the number of holes in your recepticle and purchase the proper cord. The fact it's high voltage and the connections have to be correct and tight, I suggest you have a qualified appliance service technician or electrician install the cord. At the very least use a reputable handyman.

Moved dryer out to reattach vent hose, now when turning on it buzzes for about 10 seconds then shuts itself off

Sounds like a poor electrical connection. Check where the cord connects to the dryer, and where the cord plugs in to the recepticle. Could easily be where the wires connect onto the recepticle.

How easy is it to change over plug sockets? Do you need a qualified electrician?

If you understand electricity, that means groundings, as well as live (hot) wires, then you know enought to not stand in water when you're switching the recepticle.

If you have no understanding of basic circuits, get someone that does. If you make an error in your connections, and I'm sure you don't want to hear this, you could burn your house down.

Depending on how many recepticles you're changing, call an eletrician and ask for a quote, no mater the cost it'll be safer for all those living in the home.

You have to be careful that don't overload a circuit, or cross wires, or wire things backwards.

My best advice is to always call someone licensed when you're not sure.

I hope this helps you out..

Wiring an electric dryer

If you are referring to the breaker / fuse box to the dryer recepticle, you would use 10-3 NM w/ ground. (that is 4 conductor wire: 2 "hot", one neutral, and one ground.) If you are referring to the dryer to the recepticle, use a pre-made dryer cord, either a 3 wire or 4 wire, depending on which recepticle your home has.
