I just bought an RCA Model RT4038. I have it all hooked up but when I change the channel or increase/decrease the volume, the tv tells me what I am doing. How do I make it stop?

HI,

if the display shows a progress bar when lowering and increasing the volume, that's a system built feature. you will not be able to remove that feature.

SOURCE: can't increase & decrease the volume

Double check your connections. Still not working fine. Remove the input jack connector and try to touch or hold the tip of the connector, also adjust the volume of the speaker, you should heard loudly the 60 hertz sound of your body signal. Otherwise you have a defective amplifier in the speaker system.

SOURCE: Loud distortion on Front Channels

Well, the nice thing about the newer amps is that the actual amp circuitry is all contained in a module and you don't have to do much troubleshooting. Just replace the module for that pair of channels. Bad news of course is the modules can be pricey. Should say right on it the part number, order it from mcminone.com or whoever, solder it in, use new conductive grease (many times I think these modules fail because the grease gets old, the module overheats and toasts) and you should be fixya'd

SOURCE: Why does my RCA TV cycle through channels on its own?

this is the same type of problem happening with other rca models and I know it is the EPROM CHIP but why this is failing is either because of design flaw , dirty enviroment that they were made in , to much voltage or current to the chip or too much of a draw from the chip causing it to fail . Or even a random frequency from the IR sensor or its circut I'm still investigating and testing.
leave the tv unplugged for at least 3 weeks durring this time resolder any solder that don't look good , I did this and it lasted for about 6 months(always plugged in to the wall) before it started doing it again. model # 27v412t

Bush lcd42f1080p100hz remote will not turn tv on

I had come home about a week ago and pushed the power button from my remote but my tv did not respond. So I just went to the front panel and pushed power but once the tv turned on, the volume was on full blast! I used the front panel volume decrease to get the volume down, but when I stopped pushing the button, the tv increased its volume to full blast again by itself! Naturally I just turned the tv off for a few moments. I tried the remote again, no response again, so I used the panel power button. The tv volume was still full blast when it turned on but after I decreased the volume it stayed this time. The picture is and has been perfectly fine and the tv was working fine. The next day the problem started all over and now once we turned it off from frustration of having to manually use the panel to change channels, it now will not turn on at all. I have changed batteries from my remote, reprogrammed my remote, pushed system reset several times, unplugged it for a while, bought a new surge charge, and even held the menu and device panel buttons for 10 sec and tried to turn the t.v. on again! What other options do I have or what may be the issue at hand and possible parts that may need to be replaced?? Thanks!!

Philips 27PS55S/121 sound level decreases

Yes, the dynamic range on DVD's is enough to cause the high and low passages to be somewhat annoying but, sounds more like a movie theater. This kind of dynamic range showed up first on Beta HiFi and VHS HiFi VCR's because of thier range as well. If there is a feature in your audio menus on your TV such as "audio expansion, SRS, Wide mode, etc." turn it off and let the audio be processed without expansion of any kind as that will amplify your dynamic range alot more. The lock up issue could be something Philips is aware about and if under warranty contact them. Otherwise not much you can do except manke sure the voltage going to the TV is failry stable between 110 volts and 120 volts. Sometimes dramatic drops and or increases can cause lock up or confusion to the microprocessor in the TV.

P61927 troubleshooting white noise

a similar problem was discussed here a while ago, ill quote from there: "This problem may occur when some TV's are connected to a volume control converter. To correct this, decrease the TV's volume until the buzz disappears. Now use the decoder/converter volume control and increase the sound to a comfortable listening level." hope it will help.
