No model number of Philips television offered, so it may be steam driven from 1983.
Take the LAN cable and plug one end into the television and the other end direct to your Router, or into the box that supplies your television signal. On mine it is Bell Fibe supplied via the phone line and a PVR Box. Others have a Cable Box or even satellite. Then go to television settings and check LAN settings match the box.

Hi Richard, Connecting the speakers tot he LG Tv is fairly simple.. Connect the audio cable from the speakers to the headphone jack on the TV. The headphone jack will be either on the left or right side of your TV depending upon the model number.

Connect audio out cables (L and R) from HDTV to far left audio input at back of hts 3555. Then connect HDMI output from XBOX360 to HDMI input slot on TV. Setup XBOX 360 for audio through HDMI turn TV off and then on and all should be good. It worked for me.
Connect the Sony Receiver's HDMI output to HDMI in Philips TV.
You can connect a DVD player or STB to either HDMI In of Receiver or HDMI in of Philips TV.
