This printer has been locked to accept third party firmware or downgrade. You can only check the firmware mentioned at back side cover panel and up date the same or higher.

If firmware fix to reset toner, may be purchased from third party and may be searched from the net.

For the error, make power OFF and ON. It will continue on previous firmware. If not then upgrade to higher version. unless MPBA to be replaced. If the printer has version bellow ,V.xx.xx.99 that are not locked and update freely with third party firmware.

If further information required pl. do comment.

Provided you have the correct software and driver/firmware update then the ONLY thing that can cause this is the RAM buffer.

Yes I know that software on Win 7 can sometimes "loose" the odd icon, but with the printer problem you have I know its not that.

What is going on is that the on-board memory is buffering everything to the printer. What this means is that you can stop it at the printer (as its all there) but the software on the PC (IF its up to date) cannot do anything as all its been doing is spooling the file to the printer.

If you can....you could look through the printer booklet and see if there is a way to switch off the buffer which would then mean that the print job would be spooled to the printer via the PC bit by bit and the software would be able to stop it.

But before you do all that.... just go and manually look for the firmware and software upgrade and then see if that solves it.

1. Push 8 times button MENU then OK to print a report and view your version of firmware
2. REPLACE FIRMWARE VERSION 1.13 ONLY WITH 1.13_fix
3. REPLACE FIRMWARE VERSION 1.16 ONLY WITH 1.16_fix
4. REPLACE FIRMWARE VERSION 1.18 ONLY WITH 1.18_fix
5. REPLACE FIRMWARE VERSION 1.21 ONLY WITH 1.18_fix
6. DO NOT REPLACE FIRMWARE VERSION 1.23, I DON'T HAVE FIRMWARE VERSION 1.23

IF YOU REPLACE FIRMWARE VERSION WITH WRONG VERSION A "SCANNER ERROR" OCCURS AFTER SEVERAL MONTHS WHICH MEANS YOUR SCANNER MATRIX IS BURNED OUT AND MUST BE REPLACED
