When you used directv how did you get the signal? was it automatic? if so the firestick should work. Are you sure you getting power to the firestick. I have had problems in the past using the USB for Power that is on the TV. I always plug the usb power from the Firestick to an outlet instead of the USB power if available on the TV.
When you sign onto Amazon. Search for your model (generation) Firestick remote. They do show several replacement models. Consider the age of your unit and how it operates before buying. We enjoy our Firestick but recently replaced it due to speed and glitches. We bought the Fire TV with 4K Ultra HD for $75. and really like it. No glitching, fast and voice control. Hope this helps. Please write back if there are other questions. Good Luck.
Yes you can continue to use your cable. Firestick is connected to the HDMI port. You must have your tv source on HDMI to configure Firestick. Lastly, you must have a good wireless internet signal to setup Firestick.
Hey, there are couple of ways to download as well as installing Kodi on Firestick. I am not sure which method you used to download Kodi. I would suggest you download Kodi using ES File Explorer and then it will show install button as soon as download completes.

change your antenna make sure its at least 4 ft.long Go with a Wilson fgt 4 ft .They are comparable in price to a firestick. There are plenty of antennas out there to choose from . while you are getting an antenna you should get yourself some new coax also. What kind of radio do you have ?Before you spend the money on a new antenna and coax hook up another radio to your antenna and see if it still squeals. Change mics . Do all the little obvious things first before you spend any money you may just find the problem on your own.
