have you checked the cables to the lmb ( dish ).... or take the dish cables out of the back of the sky box. wet your finger and put finger on to the centre and out part of the cable connector that some times works. faling that the sky box may need a factory rest or is damaged or the lmb has gone.
The F20 Desktop Software and Service pack on the CD's from navman do not work, as you have seen. The solution is to go to the navman website and download this Service Pack
Be sure your f20 is connected to the USB cable and turned on displaying the USB Connection screen. Leave it on during the entire process.
Once downloaded, run this self extracting file and let it install automatically. After it is installed and ran.....you will see the same error again of failure to connect.
At this point you must reinstall the driver manually. Right click on your "My Computer icon, Select Devices, then properties on the navman. You should see a yellow "?" next to a statement "Unknown Device" in the USB devices. Click on the "Reinstall Driver" and select a specific location or the Have Disk button. The USB driver is now located in C:\program files\Navman\f20servicepack\USB directory.
You should get a button that now says Okay at the bottom, click onto it and allow the MS program to update the drivers. You should see the device screen change and say "This device is operating properly". You can then close the windows and run the F20 desktop program. It should connect then.
With the right piece of hardware and software, it ispossible to triangulate your location anywhere on earth using satellitenavigation. These gamin devices cansuccessfully guide you from one place to another, or they can simply use theconnection with the satellite to tell you your exact current location. Thelatter function requires you to know how to locate the GPS device using theoptions onscreen. 1 Purchase a GlobalPositioning System (satellite navigation) product. There are manymanufacturers, including TomTom, NavMan and Garmin.2 Turn on the GPS and leave itfor a minute or so as it establishes a connection between the device and thesatellite. 3 Navigate to the"Current Location" option in the "Tools" or"Settings" menu (the exact pathway to this option depends on whichGPS device you have). The satellite signal will now successfully locate yourGPS device.4 Type a ZIP code or placename once you have located your GPS device. The gamin can now successfully guide you to your finaldestinationThanks.
Seriously though the battery has to be fully charged to obtain a signal also in the middle of the city it may not be able to see clearly the birds . Other electronic factors can screen out connection.
Is it reporting a valid antenna connection in the pic that shows the satellite connections beoing made?
