Hai cannon ir 3225 error code e197-001 what is problem

The film (plastic) film is probably torn from a piece of paper that got jammed between the upper and lower section causing an overtemp lockout condition.
1. Remove left paper door.
2. Remove conector rear plastic(black) and fuser shields(2) screws holding fuser cover shield and unplug (3)connectors,2on the rear and a small one on the front lower right of fuser unit
3. Remove (2) assemlbly mounting screws one at rear and one
on the front sides.
4. remove unit and purchase new complete unit from cannon
5.Installed new fuser by reversing above steps.

Hope you are well. I participate in the FIXYA forum to help people, and it makes me smile when when I can help folks avoid costly repairs. I don't get paid, (yet) :-) despite the fact the fact I am rated as expert/guru. Anyway.... I dont have good news. Your copier (as all do) has an assemby called a fixing unit/fusing unit. This is an area that by heat and pressure "bonds" the toner to the paper. Because of the extreme heat, all copiers monitor this assembly closely. Your error code means that the copier cannot accurately determine the speed of the fixing assmbly. Which would be like letting an iron rest in one spot rather than moving back and forth across the clothes. The fixing assembly must be replaced.The part # is FM3-3651-000. The first problem is that Canon wont sell parts like this to the general public. Then of course comes, who has the ability to replace it, as it is not really an intuitive repair. It could be done by a layperson, but....... I am so very sorry than I could not "FIXYA" but I hope I have given you enough info that you you won't be in the dark when and if you decide to seek professional help. All dealers have different rates for labor and parts markup. My company charges $150 an hour. The part is about $100. $250 sounds like the ball park. Please be kind enough to provide as favorable review to my time and help as you can when you report to "FIXYA". I wish you the best. SPINAL
