No sound on my element tv. I TRIED both remotes (cable & tv remote). The cable tech came out & tested it and said it must be the tv because it's not the box. What could it be the tv is like 9 months

Disconnect everything and play a DVD via an HDMI cable to a DVD player.. Element are a bargain basement brand.

If it doesn't work, it is a warranty issue.

SOURCE: Sharp TV (LC52D64U) remote control Comcast cable (DVR) box ?

I had the same problem with my remote. I would enter the code and there would be no response from the remote. I looked up the manual for the other comcast remote and the codes are 5 digits instead of 4. Try codes 10093 or 11602. The reason why there is no response from your remote is because it is waiting for you to enter the last digit of the code. Hope this helps.

SOURCE: RCA universal nor cable remote will program RCA L40FHD41 TV

might be able to use the cable co remote and autosearch thru the codes, but its too hard to explain, the cable tech should have ran that procedure. unfortunately, rca has 50 million models. it is common to have a tv and yes rca for sure, to not take the codes. sometimes the tv is too new for the cable company remotes to work. i am leaning toward the tv too new theory. give it six months and i bet there will be a new remote version.

SOURCE: cable box remote doesn't work when tv is turned on.

I am having this same problem with our Mitsubishi LCD Flat Panel TV, Model LT-46246 ans our Scientific Atlanta remote cable box, same model as yours. We cannot use the remote at all to change the channel. I called Mitsubishi and they said they have never heard of this. I find this incredibly hard to believe. Time Warner, our cable provider says that it is not the box because it works when not hooked up to the TV. What a pain. I would love to hear if anyone else is having this problem or has a fix for it.

Element 40 led will not accept any remote control codes supplied by element technical support also Comcast technical was at my residence for 1hr tried 5 different remotes nothing works?

Hi Larry,
What did the Comcast Tech say in the end? In such cases either the remote senser inside the TV goes bad or the micro processor stops accepting the command. Unfortunately there is nothing you can do about it yourself. Ask the Comcast or someone else who can fix it.

Then I went on and reset my remote to default then reset it to rf mode all over again then went to program tv and did the same thing again and clicked on I don't know my model and like magic it programmed my remote to the element tv. Don't ask how or why but it worked. Hope it helps someone else.

No codes for a mediacom remote control for my element tv? help! please....

A lesson to learn--not all remotes will program for all models--a limited number of codes are in most remotes and that set likely has a odd one--way to try to force people to buy a remote from them.

My dish remote does not control my element tv do someone needs the codes?

castro_ed387, I am unable to provide you a code as I do not know the remote model, but the steps below will help in programming the remote to the TV, and I included a link on the bottom that has the codes on it.

Program to TV:
1. Turn the Television On
2. Press and hold the gray TV button on top of the remote until all lights turn on.
3. Let go and TV will be blinking, enter the three-digit code using the buttons on the number pad.
4. Press # and test functionality with the TV
5. Return to Step 2 if the remote is not able to turn the TV On/Off, change the volume and mute the television. If it works press SAT.

REMOTE OPERATION

Looks like a common frequency and coding problem. Try to keep the TV and Cable box far away and try the remote. If it works, then, escalate to Cable operator for providing a new box with remote or ask for a different brand of cable box.
