Is the machine not turning on? There may be a push button circuit breaker on this machine but I doubt it. I have no personel experience with this specific device. Are you sure you have power going to the sweeper? All guards, filters and shields are in their proper place?

You can remove that short length of pipe very easily. Just pull it away from the fitting at the vacuum end and unscrew it from the brush bar end. While you've got it off, check it for splits (which are common) and replace it with a new one if it is damaged.

Hi its Darran at Dyson.

Simply switch the machine off and stand it upright. Press the brush bar on/off switch once and then turn the machine back on.

When you release the machine into the vacuuming position, the brush bar should start to turn again.

If you've had the brush out to clean it you need to re-set the trip switch which is a red button at the right side of the brush simply press it in till it clicks.

Dyson DC25 brush won't spin when touching the floor. If I lift it off the floor it spins, once it touches the floor it stops. Any idea what the problem is?

I can think of three things that could be wrong.

The easiest one is that the brush has hair and fluff wrapped around its bearing. This happened to me and was causing a burning rubber smell. Turn it over and remove the base plate. Lift the belt by putting a piece of cord under it and slide the brush out. Remove one end of the brush and slide the spindle out. Clean all the hair out and reassemble.

The internal drive belt is worn, or the nylon bush that it runs on.

The clutch is worn out.

The last two are not as easy to fix as the main drive belt is enclosed in the centre of the clutch. There are videos though that show you the process. Have a read and a watch, but try my first tip first.

How do I get the brush to spin on a Dyson DC 24. I have thoroughly cleaned everything and pressed the reset button.

Hi , if i am correct the brush bar is driven by a small electric motor inside the brush bar. It sounds as if the motor has gone or the small printed circuit board has a fault. You will have to get it checked.

Where is the reset button on a DC24 ball?

Hi there, it's Jack at Dyson.

In most cases, DC24's reset button should be located in a red recess on the side of the cleaner head, as shown in the video guide below. It may help to use something like the eraser-end of a pencil to press the button - you should feel a click as it engages.

Some newer DC24 variants don't include a physical reset button, and instead the reset mechanism will activate when you turn off the vacuum, then turn it back on and recline it into the normal vacuuming position.

If you can't see a reset button on either side of the cleaner head, this may be the case with your machine. If you're unable to reset the cleaner head, please contact our experts directly. Reset button inoperative

Sounds like 1 of 4 possibilities

1.The button next to your on switch is jammed.

2. The Motor has burnt out within the head unit

3. The PCB Unit is faulty wihin the head unit

Dyson dc 24 brush works intermittently

DC24's brush bar is designed to shut itself off for protection if something jams it. Please follow the steps shown in the video attached to remove any threads or hair from the brush bar and end cap, and to check the cleaner head for any obstructions. Once you've done this you should be able to reset the machine.

I'm sorry to hear you're having difficulties with your DC24. Your machine is equipped with a safety device which shuts off the brushbar if it gets tangled with a rug fringe, shoe lace etc. Once you've made sure the cleaner head is free of obstructions, and removed any threads or hair from around the brushbar, you'll be able to reset the machine.

The easiest way to do this is to follow the steps shown in the video below. When you press the red reset button, you may find it helpful to use something like the eraser end of a pencil to press it in until you hear an audible 'click'.
