Hello, Your monitor has a blown power supply. The repair will require you to replace 9 capacitors on the power board. We have a picture on our site, go to: www.ccl-la.com/pl926.jpg The parts that you will need to replace are circled in yellow. The part values are marked on the sides of the blown ones. If you don't want to do the repair yourself we offer a repair service for $35 plus return shipping. Let me know if you have any additional questions. I hope this helps. First open the Data cable (From AD card to Panel). If light comes means Inverter card is ok and AD card is bad..If not means Inverter card is bad and AD card is ok..If you want to repair the inverter card, pls replace all the Electrolytic capacitor and Enjoy..

I could hear the computer come on and I see the blue light telling me that it is on but the screen does not come on and the red lights that usually appear is not on. Is it broken? It does not turn on even...

How old is it? Perhaps the Monitor is gone or graphics card or it could be as simple as a tiny switch that shuts-down the monitor when the lid is closed. need more info. What red light? I have a old Gateway MX6421 Laptop

My monitor does not turn on and the power button light keeps blinking ... <my Gateway monitor light blinks blue slowly but the screen is blank

This is usually a sign that there is no signal going to your monitor, check all your cables and then reboot.

Gateway FPD1750 monitor's keep go black screen, no picture at al

tgordon60, If you know how those NEW "CURLIE-Q" energy efficient CFL light bulbs produce WHITE LIGHT, then you will know what makes an LCD display panel produce all the pretty colors and the WHITE BACKGROUND of the FIXYA web page!!! Only difference is that your "cold-cathode-fluorescent-lamps" are thinner and straight, and hung on rear of LCD glass panel and have a DC to AC electronic ballast called an "INVERTER" circuit to produce 600 to 1000vac to light them up. Get to my FIXYA profile and read my responses to other BLACK screen lcd owners to learn about all your options for repair. Follow any of the links to other web pages you find there. Your monitor not any different than ACER, DELL, VIEWSONIC, BENQ, SONY, AOC!!!!! 12fixlouie aka louie12fix

Gateway monitor FPD1975W won't display

Same problem - unplug both computer and monitor - hold power button for monitor for 15-30 seconds...then power it back on and then power on the computer. Seems from other sites there is a power issue with the monitor - this worked for me.

Gateway monitor, black screen with blinking power button

wjfarm48, Sure sounds like a power supply problem. How old is it? How many hours of use? Do you understand what a switch-mode-power-supply and an inverter supply is? If not, then here are your options. Check with Gateway to see if there is a swapout program. You box up and ship them your monitor+cash, and they return a REFURBISHED same model with new CCF tubes and inverter/SMPS. When you box up the monitor, follow this lead. "A 3 inch thick layer of breathable air shall be the only thing touching the lcd front panel" Next option is find some local TV/Monitor repair guy who can get parts and or replacement boards/CCFtubes from Gateway. Last but not least, is to repair yourself. Not Recomended.. But do a search on lcd monitor repair or Bad Capacitors In LCD Monitors or Repair of SMPS in LCD/FPD Monitors. Also check for videos on YouTUBE related to lcd monitor repair just for your own info. Here 's what you are dealing with. The light that makes your FPD bright white is generated by Cold Cathode Fluorescent Tubes (2) that require 600-1200vac at high frequency that is generated by an INVERTER which gets 12-24vdc from the SMPS. Almost the same technology is used in the new style screw-in curlie-que Compact Fluorescent light bulbs. Only they call the inverter a electronic ballast. Anyway, thats about all the info I have. Let me know how you make out in you quest to get your LCD up and running again. I'm louie12fix on fixya or lmistyrel@ aol.com BYE for now.

Monitor won't turn on, just keeps flashing the gateway logo on and off

Unless there is inadequate ventilation, your monitor could remain on all the time with little ill effect. Actually turning on and off your monitor actually puts more strain on it then leaving it on all the time.

If the gateway screen is displayed for a moment and then just turns off, I believe the inverter board inside the monitor has broken.
What's actually happening is that somewhere in the board more voltage then needed is "leaking" in and the safeguards on the board turn it off to prevent damage.

I would go and get an estimate from a shop. If the price is within 30-50 dollars of a new monitor, get a new one.
