With most sheepskin liners I would suggest that you wash on a cool wool wash on your washing machine. Most importantly, when you dry this, DO NOT place on a direct heat (radiator or other heat source) the best way to dry this is naturally, hang it over a door and leave for a few days. As this drys it will become slightly harder in texture, this is normal, but ensure that the sheepskin is totally dry before you use this again. Loosen the wool fibres with your fingers to improve the softness and this should be fine. As with any natural product, it will deteriorate with time and your result will depend on the age of the product.

Personally, I would not wash a sheepskin insert at home in a washing machine or dry it in a dryer. I read at sheepskintown that you should take it to a cleaner that has experience cleaning animal fur and leather goods before trying cleaning it at home on your own.
