Check the entire circuit around the STR for any faulty component/s; especially to used Zener diodes. You should check each component in the power regulator section circuit, before replacing an other STR. Any of the faulty components at its circuit, might damage the new STR too. Be care.

Have you checked all the other components used in the main power supply regulator section circuit, before replacing a new STR? You should do it. There should be a reason for the failure to STR. You should find it, and rectify it, before replacing an other STR. Check all the small components, resistors, zener diodes, small value ceramic capacitors etc: Make sure all of it are OK. Especially give a keen attention to zener diodes used; if any. It will be best to replace these diodes, even if you do not find any fault with it with multimeter test.For more information go to http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/

when u replace the str 6107 along Whit it ,replaced the opto-coupler, the polistor , ceramic capacitors in the str side. mainly that one connected to is pin 3.
on the out put side replace the SE1XX voltage controller also.

Check the input fuse first. If it is blown, there will be some short inside the power regulator circuit. Usually Sony sets uses STR regulated power supply. You can see this STR, and Ic, screwed onto a heatsink. Replace it with a same type and number. Before replacing the STR, check the diodes used in that section for damage, mainlu zener diodes. They might get shorted along the blowing of the STR. Check that section throughly before resoldering the new STR.

pls. open H-output trangister and out side of pcb and check voltage B+ 135v dc is ok ?.
if yes.then ...H-OUTPUT trangister checked and replace
if not then check SMPS .
1.fuse
2.STR
3.output Dyode
check
1st fuse is open then check rectifier dyode cantunity. if sort then replace all 4 dyode.(rectifier)
and if dyode is ok .then check STR cantunity is sort then Replace with New STR but 1st 220uf/450v dc capaciter cheked / 2nd. in SMPS stage any P.F and capciter likage or sort cheked or chenged first after the NEW STR use
*. note: smps pcb checkd any dry canaction pls. Resolder first.
