Question about Frigidaire Washing Machines

Open Question

My Frigidaire washer LTF2140FS0 starts a cycle by locking the door but won't fill with water no matter the temperature. I have no voltage at the water solenoids. Help!

I've tried different water temps but there is never voltage at the solenoids. I checked the water inlets and they are clean.

SOURCE: no water coming into the start cycle of kenmore 16309. I've checked continuity at the solenoid (.96) and voltage coming in (56?) and filter screen looks clear. What next?

Hello John,
The voltage coming to the valve is only 56???
it should be 110-120 and not 56,with only 56 i would be checking for a broken/bad float switch and or pinched/broken wire to the valve
if all above checks good look at the control and see why only 50% of the necessary power is at the valve.

Where are the water solenoids?
The water connector at the back of the machine is generally the back end of the water inlet solenoid. Take a look at these images. Then Google make, model, water inlet solenoid and you will find companies that sell them.

No cold water coming into washer
There is a screen in the water inlet valve that gets clogged. Turn off both hot and cold water, take off the cold water line and clean screen out. If screen is clean, set to cold water wash and turn on the washer. You should hear the solenoid hum. If you hum, check the leads to the cold water solenoid. With the washer set on cold and turned on you should read 110VAC across the wires. If you have voltage the solenoid is bad. If no voltage, broken wire or timer problem.

Dishwasher not filling
The water float switch, located on the inside bottom of the machine, may be stuck in the up(off) position keeping the water valve from functioning. This is a safety device that turns the water valve off when the machine fills in order to keep it from overflowing.

The water inlet solenoid mounted on the inlet valve under the bottom front may also be malfunctioning not allowing the water valve to open and fill the machine. If electricity is present at the solenoid terminals when the machine is in fill cycle, then check the solenoid coil to see if it is open(no continuity). Also, the timer may not be calling for water/ sending voltage to the inlet valve solenoid.

I would start by manually operating the water float valve a few time to see if that helps. You should hear a microswitch click each time the valve stem is moved up or down by the float. If not, check to see if voltage is getting to the float switch and the water inlet valve solenoid.

Most(if not all) machines have a safety cutoff switch which activates when the door is opened. That switch could also be malfunctioning not allowing voltage to the water inlet valve solenoid in fill cycle.

Kenmore washer model #110.28882790 is very slow to fill with water. We've checked and cleaned the hose filters. Is there some kind of water sensor? Or hidden filters?
Remove the water line from the INLET valve and start the machine , if there is no proper flow of water then the inlet vavle is not working to open , the filter on the vavle is clogged or the inlet filter is blocked. Also check the voltage on the inlet valve to make sure that the controller unit is outputting correct voltage.
If not replace filter , valve to ensure that the drum get best flow for filling.

Bosch washer #2460 signas that water tap is closed, checked the hoses and screens
I am not sure why but there are 2 posts for your question. This is a duplicate of my original answer:
If you have checked the hoses and screens then the most probable failure is the inlet water valve. I suspect that one of the electrical water valve solenoids has failed. If you using cold water try a warm or hot wash. If your using hot or warm try a cold wash. I am not sure on this washer if there is a mixing valve but may front loading washers have mixing valves that mix hot and cold water simply to help dissolve the HE type soaps. If changing wash temp makes no difference then a continuity check for inlet water valve coil resistance will have to be performed with an inexpensive ohm meter. If there is no continuity the solenoid has failed and the inlet water valve will have to be replaced.

This unit appears to have 2 inlet water valves one for hot and cold and one for just cold that is used for diluting soap. You will need to check all 3 solenoids for continuity. The inlet water valves are items 5 and 6 of this picture:

My dishwasher sounds like it isn't getting water and after running for a minute it shuts off and start flashing the letter SE
Too little info, but sounds like a bad water inlet solenoid.

Intermittent water flow interupted by solenoids pulsing
I've got the same problem. If I pause the cycle, wait about 10 seconds, and then resume, the water starts normally. I suspect the Cold Water Inlet Solenoid is sticking, probably due to water sediment in the solenoid causing it to stick. I'll try cleaning it and then replace if that doesn't help and let you know what happens.

Maytag performa PAV2200 - cold water fill does not work, but hot does
Check the solenoids at the water inlet valve. They can be checked using a multimeter or ohm meter for continuity. If either solenoid has none, it is defective and the water inlet valve assy will need to be replaced. I am attaching a photo for reference. Hope this helped and best wishes.
