Monitor worked fine for years, then permanent standby

Same as everyone else. monitor worked for years, then suddenly, wont come out of sleep. was occasional, now it is the "big sleep", nothing but flashing blue light. power off, power on, get solid power light for a few seconds, then back into sleep mode. took pc to work and let it go to sleep while connected to Dell and Gateway FPDs. shake mouse, and back alive, no problem. gonna do the overnight test next. dont expect any different results, but it seems clear that the sceptre monitors die after 2-3 years. maybe its time for a samsung?

in truth, no. i did just the opposite, i moved the pc to my office and am testing the sleep functions there. dont have another FPD at home, and the ones at work are asset tagged so the guards can see them as they leave the building, lol.

It goes to standby all of a sudden and won't come back. Move the mouse, hit the keys and nothing. Have to rest the PC to have it working again.

Click on: Control Panel, then click on Hardware & Sound, then click: Change When Computer Sleeps, then select the time setting you require in:"Turn Off The Display."

A Google search indicates this is a common problem.. Some of the comments in this video may help. If it is still under warranty, you might be best to get a RMA. Good Luck.

Optiplex 745 monitor goes to sleep randomly

In regards to your issue with your monitor: For a monitor to display "no signal input" there is likely a problem with the monitor making a connection to your input source (yes I know duh). First and easiest thing to fix this is to check your cables going between your computer and monitor, if your computer and monitor start out working and then fail to communicate, there is a good chance that the cable might be coming loose just enough that the connection fails. I might suggest that if you have, as you say another computer, that you try swapping monitors to check where the problem lies.

Hope this helps some.

Blank screen the screen has been working for over a year and all of a sudden went blank its not my pc as i plugged my pc into another screen and worked fine.... the standby flashing stops flashing when i...

Since you have tried another monitor with your computer, then we can only assume that your LCD monitor had gone bad.
If the light is green but you can't see anything on the screen, then most likely the backlight has gone bad. Unless you want to take the monitor apart, I would suggest buying a new monitor.

My dell inspiron E1405 screen turns off by itself it turns on fine but after a couple min. The screen turns off but the laptop is still on

Its going to sleep mode after 5 mins or going to standby if you are not working on it. you can on it by moving mouse or pressing any key on keyboard if it gone to sleep mode .You can press power button to make it on if its gone to standby. To disable this Right click on any empty space on desktop and go to screen saver tab and click on Power button . There in Power Scheme tab , make all options to NEVER and press Apply and OK.Now it will work fine. Options are turnoff monitor, turn off hard disk , System standby , system hibernates etc

My ViewsonicVP930b Monitor Suddenly Turns Off

This is a classic VP930 problem.

It is caused by bad capacitors in the power supply circuit.

Open the monitor, and look at the power board. There are six capacitors. Replace the 220uF @ 25V and the 1000uF @ 16V capacitors. I would recommend replacing them with 35V and 25V capacitors respectively.

If the serial number on your monitor starts with Q8H you could also have a bad IC on the main board. Q8 on the main board is an FET in an IC package. If this problem persists solder a wire from the right side to the left side. There is one pin that turns the IC on and off. All the other pins (per side) are soldered together. Do not solder the pin on the left side that is by itself. Just leave it. Solder ALL the other pins on the left to ALL the other pins on the right.

Remember, do this ONLY if the problem persists after replacing the capacitors AND if your serial number starts with Q8H.
