The first thing you should try is checking the power supply cord and making sure it is securely plugged into the wall outlet. If it is and the washer still won't turn on, then you should check the house circuit breaker to make sure the outlet the washer is plugged into has not tripped. If the breaker is not tripped, then you may need to check the wiring harness between the power supply and the main board, as this may be the source of the problem. If the wiring harness looks to be undamaged, then you may need to replace the main board.
if its a Kenmore model then this message says that the button control board has lost sight of the main control board , but its been my experience that this maybe able to be reset and it may never come back or it will not reset and the control board will need replaced (50/50)
The problem may be with the heating element or temp limit switch.
To check with an ohm meter you will need to pull the top, the front, and the drum out. If all check good then it may be the circuit board.
Sounds as if the rinse hold button has been set by accident.check the switches top left.if they are correct, then next query would be logic board has a problem, sometimes fixed by hair drying the board in cases of damp lack of use washer.if machine completes most cycle then I suspect rinse hold button is on or open circuit.
If you cannot switch cycles then the selector switch board or main circuit board can have faulty componenents and will need to be tested with a multi-tester
hi rachel, there's a bad earth in the machine some where, things to check wiring to the motor, check the wiring it's self, any circuit boards, if they are all ok the programmer could be shorting out hope it helps
Just going on these symptoms, you may need a new control/timer.
Inside the control /timer are electrical contacts, and when your machine gets to that part of the cycle, the contacts are not closing to allow the cycle to complete.
If you have circuit board, you will perhaps need a new one of those.
If you do not, probably a control/timer assembly.
If you type "SeasPartsDIrect" into you computer's search engine, and then type your complete model number into the blank when you are asked for it, you may look at the schematic and see whether you have a control / timer or a circuit board.
God bless your efforts.
There is a chronic problem with Bosch dishwashers where the heater relay is soldered to the printed circuit board becomes loose (actually it seems like the solder just disappears from the connection). You may also note that the timer seems to get stuck and will not advance. Remove the top front panel, the circuit board is on the right side as you face the dishwasher. You need to re-solder the heater relay terminal.
