Hard reset of my hp ipaq 510 i forgot my password

s.gifs.gifHP iPAQ 500 Voice Messenger Series - Resetting the Device
Sometimes you need to reset your iPAQ if, for example, it is not responding to your pressing a button or your tapping the screen. There are two types of resets.
  • Soft Reset - A soft reset stops all running applications, but does not erase any programs or saved data.
  • Factory or Hard Reset - A factory or hard reset clears all user-installed settings, programs, and data, and restores your iPAQ to factory settings.

Performing a Soft ResetPerform a normal or soft reset to stop all running applications, to restart the iPAQ after installing a new application, or if the iPAQ locks up.CAUTION:Make sure to close all running applications before performing a soft reset, since a soft reset erases all unsaved data in such applications.Perform a soft reset using one of these two options.
  • Turn off the iPAQ by holding down the End key.c01118005.jpg1 - End Key
  • Remove the battery of your iPAQ.

Performing a Factory or Hard ResetPerform a factory or hard reset when there is a need to clear all settings, programs, and data from the RAM.CAUTION:Performing a hard reset will return the iPAQ to its default settings and it loses all information (files and settings, among others) that is not recorded in the ROM. Back up all important information or data before performing a hard reset.Follow these steps to perform a hard reset and return your iPAQ to factory settings.
  1. Turn off your iPAQ by holding down the End key.
  2. Then hold down the center of the 4-Way Navigation key and turn on the iPAQ again while continuing to do so.c01118006.jpg1 - 4-Way Navigation Key2 - End Key
  3. A confirmation screen opens asking whether you want to perform a hard reset or not. SelectYes . The iPAQ will reboot with its original factory settings.
NOTE:The applications and data present on your iPAQ before performing the hard reset can be reinstalled by synchronizing your iPAQ with a computer using ActiveSync/WMDC (Windows Mobile Device Center).NOTE:If you don't want the iPAQ playing a tune after you turn it on, create a new text document and save the document as StartUp.wav. Replace this new document with the file on your device.

Guest,

The receiver may be developing a hard drive problem. Have you seen any error messages pop up on the TV screen (024 or 311)? The receiver may need to be replaced. You can call 1-800-333-3474. I hope this helps.

Copy shows from dishnetwork 510 receivers to external hd

ic_technolog,

External Hard Drives are not supported on the 510 receiver. The 211, 211k, 411, 612, 622, 722, 722k, and 922 are all capable of having an external hard connected via the USB port on the receiver and a one time activation fee of $40. I hope this helps.

My Tom Tom 510 will not turn on at all. I plug in the power supply and the green light comes on. I used it yesterday and this morning, and all was fine, tried using it 1 hour ago to travel home and...

try to reset

The Reset hole is hard to find, you need to first remove it from the mount, turn it upside down, and within the mounting base area of GO you will see two interface slots (currently only one is being used) and towards the front of the unit on the base you will see a little hole marked reset. This is just like soft resetting a Palm or Pocket PC, it requires something small like a paperclip, and nothing was supplied with GO to enable you to easily reset the device.

HP 510 password...?

You physically need to disconnect a little cmos battery in the inside of the laptop. If you dont feel like opening it yourself, ask somebody who has experience in building pc´s, it is not that hard. Just simple putting apart, shorting a circuit and there ya go.

Tomtom 510 doesn't reset

Before you keep resetting your tomtom I would intall a new battery. Call your closest "batteries plus store" or "radioshack store" and then try to reset it, it might be only the battery and nothing to do with the reseting.....

Dvr not recording

It sounds as if your going to need to replace the receiver as the hard drive has an error on it. I assume you can record live TV. There are also few 510's in the Dish Network service area throughout the country so my suggestion is to have Dish send the receiver to your home as opposed to creating a work order for a technician to come to your home as it will be hard to ensure you get the 510 back.If you decide to upgrade to a HD receiver try to get a model that does not have the internal hard drive but also has the expansion port on it. There is a one time fee to activate this port of 39.99. This amount will be recovered in the first year by using an external hard drive eliminating the 5.99 DVR fee every month. This option also allows you to have better control of your recordings and makes them portable. They also will not be lost by replacing the receiver. If you are a real big tv fan check out the sling box offers. Thanks for using Fix Ya.
