Question about Maytag Ovens
My maytag digital oven is the upper unit in a double wall oven. The number inside the door is 8114p734-60 12-99-00. After a power outage the display has everything lit up and the fan is running. I tried to hit cancel but that didn't work. I had to turn the breaker off to the oven. When I turn the breaker back on it still does the same thing. While the breaker was on I tested the lower oven which is not digital and it still works but I can use it because the fan on the top one runs constantly when the breaker is on and it has an electrical burning smell.

SOURCE: Built-in Electric Double Oven
The fan is controlled by a temperature sensitive switch. Apparently the switch is not shutting off when it should. It will have to be replaced. If you are not comfortable working around appliances, you will need to call a service technician. There is usually a set of maintenance instructions in the top of the oven. Check it out for any suggestions. Temperature switches can be purchased on line.

It is highly likely that your heating element is open so I would ( with power removed) verify the integrity of the element by detaching it and making sure it is not elecltrically OPEN, It is nothing more than a big power resistor that when current is flowing,..gets hot but if it becomes open.. you will not have any curent flow thru it ( or heat generated from it). That would be the first place I would look.. It could also be the control that feeds it..
A few ideas to check..

SOURCE: Need some detective work!
In order to get the an Owner's manual download you need to supply the E-NR FD numbers on the unit' s rating plate and go to this site https://portal.bsh-partner.com/portal(bD1kZSZjPTAwOQ==)/PORTALFRAME.HTM The rating plate looks like this
The location of the E-NR - FD numbers can be also found in the unit itself. Here are some usual locations, I know your appliance is a double wall oven, but I could not find a picture of one, so I got the closest thing available, an electric range w an electric oven.
Now, if still you can not find the oven's rating plate, I suggest to take a couple of pictures of the oven, find a GAGGENAU dealer nearby, there is an email address and Ph. # on the link above. Or, click on the SERVICE tab, select Gaggenau Worldwide from the menu to the left of the picture, select the Gaggenau Dealer closer to you, contact them and send them the pictures, explain your situation and if they can provide the E-NR FD numbers to download and owners manual. Good luck!! A HELPFUL - 4 THUMBS - rating for this solution would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for using FixYa.

Shorted or open oven temperature sensor
(RTD) Check sensor harness and harness connection
between oven sensor and oven control. Replace oven temperature sensor (RTD) if
wiring is ok.
