The manual is free , at dlink dot com
you push the reset button for long time per manual 15sec (iirc)
the release it and now all defaults are set.
per the manual, google dir-655 manual.
easy as pie if you just read the manual.

I would suggest you try to change the channel to a higher one and this solves this problem most of the times...You need to go to your router configuration to do that usually by opening a browser and type 192.168 ... and log in into your router...Hope this helps.

you don't require the CD.
You can change the settings of the router manually also.

The installation CD is a simple form of the router's web interface.Try this web address to get the routers internal web page:

http://192.168.0.1

Support is in the right end column.

You may need the log on password; try admin

Hello,

If you haven't changed the default security key on the router then you can enter the one which is printed at the base of the router if you have changed the password then you will need to get into the router interface and find out.

Hello,

f you havent changed the default security key it would be printed at the base of the router. If you have changed it and you have forgotten it then you will have to log into the router interface and retrive the password.

How to remove the router security key from the DIR-655 D-link router

Hi Baker,

I got your issue, Inorder to disable the security on your router follow these steps,

1. Open your browser (eg: Internet Explorer), clear the address bar and type 192.168.0.1 and hit enter, You will be logged into Dlink router setup page

2. Click on security on that page

3. changed the security mode to disabled and then save the changes which you have made

4. then your network is unsecured, you can connect to your wireless network without any security password

Please follow this, it will work

I set up my d-link dir 655 without requiring a password for access. To protect my access, I want to require a password and cannot find out how to do it.

DIR-655 wireless intermittment - connections drop -

Any one with a mac ... MAKE SURE "Enable Auto Channel Scan : " is OFF.

CHANGE the name of the WIFI Network.

SET the Channel to CH11 [Others interfere with phone signals]

SET Security to WPA, TKIP Cypher, 3600. Then enter your password [min 8 all lowercase chrs] Change it when you are working.

Save and unplug the router and you will be fine.
