If you go to Nutone's website there are instruction manuals for many models of range hood, look for your specific model
In general, you pull down on the aluminum mesh filter by hand, using the tab or finger holes provided to pull on. Metal filters are reusable and can be washed by hand or in the dishwasher

Did you ever find out what blew the fuse originally? Do the lights have a dimmer feature on them? If so, the reostsat may be bad, or the switch that controls the light intensity, 1,2,3. ect. Something caused the fuse to blow, maybe a wire on the bulb or switch somewhere.

The problem is the little lever in the socket. Turn breaker of fan off, grab a flat head screw driver and lift the little lever slighty like a 45 deg angle. If not the replacement socket assembly is

There is definetly somthing blocking the air from escaping, either the duct is blocked or the installer did not remove the metal plate which opens the fan up for it to be able to evacuate.

you can reseal the hole with aluminium tape
you can use screws with metal flat washer that has a rubber backing

These are halogen bulbs, so you must be very careful not to touch them with your bare hands. Use a paper towel, or even better latex gloves. The smallest bit of oil from your skin/ hands will cause the bulb to blow as soon as they get warm
