You might try replacing the thermistor in the bottom of the outer tub. It's only a $6 part and pretty easy to do. Try cold only wash and see if it works. Also, try putting washer into test mode and run through each segment that it tests. Let us know results by commenting back pls

SOURCE: Error code LE on front load LG washer

This is a motor fault code. Sometimes it can be just a communication error, in which case you can try unplugging the machine for 20 minutes and see if it clears the problem up. More likely it is a fault in the motor itself. The most likely culprit would be a defective hall sensor. I will attach a photo of the sensor for you to see what it looks like. To access and replace the hall sensor, you have to remove the rotor and stator at the motor. Before going to this trouble, try the unplugging thing first and also check the connector on the main control board. It is the red connector next to the heat sink2.gif. Using a multimeter, check that the board is receiving a signal from the sensor. Hope this helps and best wishes.

SOURCE: LG WM-2277HW Front Load Washer. I am trying to remove the big nut

the best way is to have some one hold the drum from the front and turn the nut. it can also be done sometimes by turning the drum in the opposite direction and then pop it with the wrench. not the best way but it works.or you can hold the stator assy with one hand and tap your wrench with a hammer.i hope thia was helpful, would like to here how things worked out.

This could be a bad hall sensor or even a bad motor. The motor is warrantied for 7 years but, you need to call an LG authorized service center and provide proof of purchase.

Hi.

E47 effectively means that the control module detects that the door switch is open, unless there are additional problem, this is rarely caused by electronic control module, and commonly caused by wiring to door lock or door lock itself.

The electronic control module is difficult to diagnose and expensive. Before replacing it it is better to perform an additional test checking that there is continuity between two contacts from lock switch wires going to control board when the door lock switch is closed, or checking that each wire has continuity from control board to door lock switch. An old style test was also performing a cycle with door lock switch contacts jumped.

If E47 is gone, check also the pressure switch. The pressure sensor is checked by control module before advancing to spin. E47 however indicates that the problem is door lock, wiring or electronic control. In your case either door latch or wiring.

Regards.

Ginko.

I have a lg front load wash machine that fills with water but will not spin. You can hear the motor try to spin but it seems stuck. The test on the display came up error code nE

I think you mean, LE error code, as there is no nE error code, their codes display are strange.

Locked motor error. Cause: The connector (3-pin), male, white) in the motor harness is not connected to the connector. (3-pin,female,white) of stator assembly. Or the electrical contact between the connectors. (3-pin,male,white) in the motor harness and 4-pin,female,white connector in the main PWB assembly is bad or unstable. Or the motor harness between the stator assembly and main PWB assembly is cut (open circuit) Or the hall sensor is out of order/defective.

The washer does not run through the wash cycle. The door locks but nothing further happens. There is an "LE" error message but I do not have a manual that explains what that means. Please help.

The LE error message means locked motor error and it is almost always accounted for an out-of-order Hall Effect Sensor. Other causes includes defective Main Board and broken wiring harness.

To check the Hall Effect Sensor:
  1. Unplug the machine.
  2. Remove the top plate assembly by unscrewing the two screws on the back of the top plate.
  3. Look for the Main Board assembly on the rear left side of the machine.
  4. Remove the power connector and sensor switch assembly.
  5. Remove the Main Board assembly protection cover by releasing the latches along its sides.
  6. Look for the 4-pin white connector with white, gray , red, and blue wires. It is the wiring harness going to the Hall Effect Sensor. Disconnect it from the board.
  7. Using a multimeter, check the resistance between the white and blue wires and between the white and red wires. Resistance should read about 10k ohms.
  8. If either resistance reads open, check for a broken wiring harness and repair or replace as necessary. Otherwise, the Hall Effect Sensor is defective and must be replaced.
  9. If the tests above show that the Hall Effect Sensor seemed to be good, you have to check if the Main Board delivers 10 to 15 Vdc supply to it.
  10. Reconnect the machine to the power outlet.
  11. Press POWER but DO NOT PRESS START.
  12. Set the multimeter to DC volt and measure the voltage between white and gray wire terminals on the Main Board. Voltage should be 10 to 15 Vdc. Otherwise, the Main Board is defective and must be replaced.
  13. Connect the red test lead to the red wire and the black test lead to the gray wire.
  14. Turn the motor rotor slowly by hand.
  15. You should measure a pulsating 10 Vdc if the Hall Effect Sensor is okay.
  16. Repeat the step with the red test lead connected to the blue wire.
  17. If you measure a 10 Vdc but not pulsating, the Hall Effect Sensor is defective and must be replaced.
Feel free to inform me if the Hall Effect Sensor or the Main Board needs to be replaced and if you want to replace it yourself.

This is from the service manual for your washer. The hall sensor may be defective but you will need a technician to check out the other things listed here. The sensor is not covered for 7 years. Good luck
