The hinge or metal slip is still hooked to the door. the connection on the oven is my problem. i cannot get the hinge to attach or hook onto this slip or clip.
There is a powerful spring in the hinge, and if your oven is like mine, it has pulled the part that goes into the body of the oven, tight to the door. This spring is powerful enough to break fingers, so be careful. When I have had this problem, I have used chopsticks or a wooden wedge to hold the hinge part open in order to get it into the oven. Next time, look for some catches in the hinge mechanism that you can set, before you pull the door off, to stop the hinge from snapping closed.

I had the same problem. The first time the Tech. came out, put a new hinge in and it held until Nov. 07. ( 8 months ). Then the left hinge brakes when I opend the door and it crashes to the floor. Bending the right hinge and the metal doorliner. Jan.7,08 everything was fixed. On 1/11 after no more then 10 openings & closings the hinge broke again. This time I heard the crack of the braking metal after opening the door 2 inches. It now sits in my kitchen propped-up with a stick, waiting for the repairman. I am sorry I have no solution , but there must be a problem with the hinges. I forgot to tell you that it started with a door that did not close, like yours.

We just had to fix ours. There are some videos on youtube to give an overview of clip types.
On ours, we pulled the upper long hook down to the lower hook, then slid the clip lock into place. It then looks more like a one-piece hinge unit. Tip the door back into place, lift up to the horizontal metal piece, then slide the clips back to the open position(tis did take a screwdriverto push them back)-so the two pieces become two pieces-once inside the door frame again.

Although very tight (because the oven is only 1 yr old) i managed to get the hinges into the open position, then slide the door into position on the oven and close the door. The hinges did go back and lock as they should but I struggled for almost 30 mins before success.
