Is it the canister. You also need to slide suction control in the handle of hose, to turn it on.

SOURCE: SEBO air belt K

You probably have a clog either in the hose, wand or the inlet down by the brush roll. Unhook the hose from the want and see if you have suction there and if the light stays off. Disconnect the wnd and look down thru it to make sure it is clear. If there is no obstruction, then the circuit board has a problem. But I would suspect a clog.

SOURCE: I have a Sebo air belt K1 How do you open the outer casing.

OK, but be warned... it's not so difficult getting the thing apart, but making a neat job of reassembly has been known to drive grown men to despair. And that's because you have to remove the airbelt. But first things first:
1. remove the hose
2. remove the hose-retaining ring
3. remove the flap that covers the green filter.
4. remove the screw beneath that flap nearest to the handle (there's a deeply recessed screw on the other side, but you can ignore that)
5. remove the clip at the back of the machine where the airbelt joins (lever it off carefully with a screwdriver)
6. this is where it begins to get interesting. The airbelt is in two parts - the bulky foam strip and a thin material cover. The cover is held in grooves, top and bottom, running all the way round the machine, by two thin plastic strips around which it is wrapped and which just slip into those grooves. The first challenge is to get those strips, and the covering material, out without damaging them. Just prise one end out with a small screwdriver and work your way around the machine - it's more a matter of patience than anything else. (The second challenge is getting it back neatly!)
7. remove the ends of the foam strip far enough to reveal two plastic clips that hold top and bottom of the body together
8. prise those clips off with a screwdriver.
9. it should now be possible to lift the top cover off. It can be a bit fiddly getting it off over the neck where the hose plugs in, but it does come off.
10. the cable rewind spool is now revealed in all its glory.
11. if you've found my advice helpful so far, here's a final piece... don't try to fit a new cable to the old spool - fit a complete new spool.
12. good luck!

I value feedback, so please remember to rate this response.

Testimonial: "Followed your directions and were fine.I joined a new lead close to the end of the spool by soldering the wires together and covered with tape. Now ok"

The suction is not working

some machines have a 'safety' built in where if the belt is broken, other items like the lights don't work. Check and replace the belt first. It's also very important to keep the tubes that suck air unclogged, and clean the filters EVERY time you use it

Hi, I have a Sebo premier and the brush wont work or the green light come on. Can anyone tell me if you should get 240v on the connector from the main vacuum body to the brush head? I have tested this and...

I understand 240v to be 240 volts. of electricity- no vacuum should have 240v. that amount is used on elect. stoves, air conditions, welding machines and large electic appliances. Check the belt drive and the manual for the green light operation- I still don't understand the 240v deal.

Hi. I have a Sebo X1 about 12 years old. Last time I used it there was an unpleasant smell in the room but didn't seem to be coming from the Sebo. However I am now trying to use it and it doesn't work. The...

The unpleasant smell could have been the lifetime belt finally giving up. Also happened on our 13 year SEBO X1 Automatic due to my error of vacuuming up a rug with long loose strands! If you are good with a screwdriver, you can replace the drive belt easily enough - go onto You Tube - there is an excellent UK video showing how to replace the drive belt on the SEBO. There are two belts, but you will know which one has to be replaced if you remove the screws on the underside of the main floor head. Before you do anything, kneel on the floor beside the SEBO and press the main release button on the bottom of the front bin area just above the floor head. It may need brute force but when pressed, put on knee on the floor head gently and pull the bin upwards to release from the body of the SEBO. This unlocks the main floor head from the bin, making it easier to look at the floor head. See video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AOPphVcZHYA

Sebo X4 Extra brush light remains on despite changing brush, any solutions?

Sorry you've had to wait so long for a reply. Perhaps you no longer need help, but here goes anyway. Must confess I'm not certain about this, but my guess is that the automatic height adjust mechanism (let's call it the HAM for convenience) isn't working properly. The HAM works by sensing the drag of the brush roll against the carpet, and raising or lowering the front of the machine as necessary to maintain constant drag. So first you need to check the HAM, as follows: with the handle in the locked upright position, switch on and wait for a few seconds (there may or may not be any signal from the green UP or DOWN lights). Then, still switched on, lower the handle to the normal operating position and check that the green DOWN light comes on. Wait until the DOWN light goes off and then return the handle to fully upright (switched on all the time). When fully upright the UP light should come on for a few seconds and you may be able to see the handle tilt backwards as the front of the machine rises. If this is all working properly, we need to look elsewhere for a solution. The next thing I would look for is for a broken belt. Just turn the machine over while it's running and look to see that the brush is rotating (keeping fingers and clothing well clear, of course). Sebo belts usually last 15 years or more, but breakages are not unknown.
I realise this may not exactly solve your problem, but it should give you something to work on. If you need more help, post a reply here, saying what you've found so far, and I'll try to be more specific.
Good luck!

Sebo Air Belt c3.1 powerhead problem

Must likely there is a switch that is just dirty,(mounted on #31) that is activated when you the elbow is is down and when it is in the upright position. You will have to take the back end cover off to get to it and blow it out to clean it. Could also be the wires in the elbow, or where it hooks up to the wand and hose.
