I understand your Frigidaire dryer, model# FEQ1442ES, runs for about 10 minutes then turns off. I also see, that when it turns off, all the lights on the front panel are flashing. I suggest resetting your appliance, by either unplugging it or shutting the power off at your home's circuit breaker, for 3-5 minutes. Restore power and start any cycle. I ask that you please follow up with a comment on the post, at your convenience, to advise if further troubleshooting is needed or if your appliances status has changed successfully. Hope this is helpful.
1
Make sure the home's gas supply valve is turned on. Check
your Maytag owner's manual to find the location of the dryer's gas
shut-off valve. This is usually behind the dryer's front panel or in the
back of the unit. Open the valve to allow gas to flow into the dryer.
2
Open the lower front panel of the dryer to access the pilot
light assembly. Press and hold the starter button as you light the pilot
with a handheld lighter. If you have trouble getting it to light,
release the starter button and wait a few minutes before trying it
again. Once the pilot is lit, hold the starter button down for another
minute to make sure it will stay burning.
3
Close the dryer's front panel and run a test cycle to see if
it is producing heat. Call a repairman to evaluate the problem if
lighting the pilot did not restore the heat.
the start switch needs replaced, as far as the front panel light not lighting you will need to open the back top panel of the dryer and find the wiring diagram and trace it out, it may something as simple as the connector is unplugged. Hope this helps Tim
Press the Reset Button for 1 minute see if it resets? or Are the lights lights DIM on the interface panel ( front of unit with buttons & lights) If so Turn power off to the dryer then you need to remove the top of the dryer lid off and locate the two ribbon cables that go between the CCU and the interface board. as well as two small ribbon cables between the two parts of the interface panel. use a paper clip or screw driver press on the center tab and reset each cable one at a time. Then turn unit back on and try it again.
If you have the rear control dryer you posted under:
1. Unplug power to dryer.
2. remove two phillips head screws behind door, just in front of lint filter.
3. Use putty knife to push in dryer top release clips at seam with dryer front, about a inch in from each side.
4. Swing top up and remove two phillips screws holding front onto frame at very top of front panel.
5. pull front panel forward a bit and remove plug to drum light and door switch.
6. lift front panel off dryer.
7. Turn off gas shut off and remove burner / valve assembly.
8. Replace orifice and change out brass pressure regulator screw.
9. reassemble and test.
Make sure the gas valve at the dryer is turned on. Dryers use a glow plug or electronic ignitor to light the gas. There is no pilot light. Plug the dryer in and start it. Look inside the front lower panel to see if the ignitor glows. If it does and the gas does not light then the gas to the dryer is probably turned off. Look for a valve in the supply line to the dryer. Also inside near the front underneath.
In my case, the problem was a dead main board. The board cost $190 and the overall repair cost $335. I will never buy another Whirlpool due to this experience.
Hi! crystal2hd My he3 dryer does not have a door lock. The door switch turns off the light and allows the dryer to start. Make sure this switch is not damaged. Unplug the dryer before removing the front cover. InMrFixIt
