On the control panel the 3rd button from the left is the timer button.
If you press this button when the unit is running the number display on the left will start blinking- use the up/down arrows to set the time that you want the unit to run.
If you press the timer button when the unit is off it will run on and off for the designated time you set- eg if you set 1 then every 1 hour the machine will switch on and run for 1 hour.
(The left # will just blink once you have the time you want just leave it and eventually the normal humidity setting reading will show)

The
compressor relay's purpose is to start the compressor. A faulty relay
can result in the compressor failing to cycle on. The relay is accessed
from the lower rear of the humidifier.
Before testing a compressor relay, unplug the refrigerator to avoid
an electrical shock hazard. Also, if the compressor uses a capacitor,
it must be discharged first to avoid the risk of electrical shock.
The compressor relay can be accessed by removing the terminal cover
box. The cover is held on by tension or with a retaining clip.
