try replacing your power supply or better yet try to replace your memory, if you have any spare, i encountered this problem with an imb socket 478 motherboard, the power supply is good but there is no display nor any beeping sound, i though that the power supply would be the problem but not when i change the memory module it boot up nicely and has no problem ever since

If you don't have a floppy then you can use
http://partitionlogic.org.uk/ to try to fix the partition.
If you want to recover your files before messing with the failed partition then just boot from a Linux Live-CD and move your files on a USB stick.

One thing you could look at is that thing that makes the click, it could be a relay and they do go wacky sometimes (hence why it shuts down). If you are lucky it will tell you (on the relay) everything you need to replace it.
