How to Change the Light Bulb on a Whirlpool Refrigerator

1. Unplug the Whirlpool refrigerator from the electrical outlet.
2. Locate the bulb on the inside of the Whirlpool refrigerator.
3. Remove the light cover. Usually these just snap off, but, on some models, they may need to be unscrewed. ...
4. Unscrew the old light bulb.
5. Screw in the new light bulb.
6. Replace the light cover.

not a good model # check on face of opening inside door frame.
door lock switch maybe your problem depending on model#
washer should show error code on electronic display by lights flashing or led read out if not lighting up can be control board check your home power first

Not a bulb. Some of these units have a power board beside the compressor. Need a complete model number located in the refrigerator section.

sounds like the control board is out. If you remove the lower front cover a hex head screw in each corner, there should be a plastic pouch with tech sheets inside run test #1 part number for the board is 8546219

Had the same problem. Someone on this board told me about this circuit board. I found one online for $73 and replaced it myself.

You should be able to turn and pull the burn bulb. Then replace with a new one. You can get a new bulb at repariclinic.com or partselect.com

Yes , the bulb lights up a fiber optic strand , which runs to the display . No light , no lighted display .

OK, the digital logic being out reminds me of the possibility the mother board or circuit board has gone out. If you can get the complete model number on inside of fresh food compartment door frame, near bottom of door, I will be able to help you better.
