Blue screen well my brother in law gave me this tv and he said he couldent fix it. the picture is a little distorted and there is alot of blue on the screen and the picture just seems foggy. Any help would be very appreciated
It sounds like the cooling fluid in your picture tube(s) has become dicolored - this can be seen if you dismantel the unit and view the picture tubes directly - they will appear foggy - replacing the fluid can be a time consumming and expencive task.

If the screen is blue, and when you press the menu button words come on the screen, you have no video (picture) information coming to the TV. Make sure that you have everything connected the same way that it was before.
If the screen is black there is probably a problem in the power circuits of the TV. If it was working properly before, try unplugging the TV overnight. When you plug it in tomorrow, take a deep breath and count to 10: if you have your fingers crossed and you make sure that you are holding your mouth just the right way, and you have a little bit of luck, it will have reset itself and a picture will come on.

Is your TV near anything magnetic ? This causes picture issues. If the thing is a tube TV then you can fix this fault with a magnet. Call 0845 20 20 118 for help
Can you describe in a little more detail what the symptoms are? Are the streaks thin lines or are they large thick swashes of Blue? Is yur video still visible? Sounds like it may be the blue convergence amps or the resistor tied into the amps. is there anyway you can post a picture of your screen distortion?
if you getting a blue screen and NO browser, the system is probaly damaged, either try another AV cord to plug into tv, if that doesnt work then its something internal
