I have a EZ Grabber but do not know how to work it.

You can get a video grabber (google video grabbers) and connect the RCA cable to the camera and the grabber USB cable to your computer. Run the grabber software and play the tape so the grabber can record the video from the tape in the camera.

You'll need a Frame Grabber to transfer video off the tape to a TV using the A/V cable for the camera. Google Frame Grabber to find one that suits your budget.

I have been through this but can find nothing to indicate an "edit" facility.

which clearly indicates an edit facility via some Arcsoft software which presumably is supposed to come with the grabber.
It is possible that one of the "software utilities" on the webpage (link below) may contain the software required.

Most of these camcorders do not have proper usb support for video, so you'll have to buy a so-called video grabber or capture card. You can plug in the video grabber to usb and then connect dvi or firewire from your camcorder. Install the included software, configure your camera. Then press play and the video grabber will record the input from your camera.
When you buy one of those video grabbers, make sure it's a good one. Make sure powerful and stable software (which is compatible with windows 7) is included. Cheap things usually don't work. I've had this Chinese piece of junk for $10 which lagged and kept crashing my computer. Pinnacle was a lot more expensive but it works great and the fun will last a long time.

There appears to be quite a few problems with people trying to convert their video tapes to DVD using a PC and propriety converters, editing programmes etc.

Friends have also has such issues, lip synch being one of the most prolific.

I've successfully converted mine, without too much issue and managed to avoid these issues.

I hook up my VHS recorder with a DVD recorder which also has a HDD. Daisy chaining it on to a TV to monitor. All with scart leads.

Play the tape, record to the DVD hard drive. Finally edit and dub to DVD.

I don't know if they will attach to the side, you may want to put a strip of velcro around it to keep it handy. Also check Amazon.com for similar items.

Check the configuration settings - you may have the automatic frame grab feature activated.

I have heard this works, going to try one today, I have tried EVERYTHING else, downloading drivers, diffferent programs, firewire cords, so I think this will work, when I googled our specific camcorder, this matches, also, some people are selling the exact sony camcorder on ebay with this included, stating they have used it to connect to their pc.
