If you have any cables from the effects inserts section of the board inserted, disconnect them. Check ALL sends levels. Check effects processor for L.E.D. signal. .(Assuming you are using the internal effects.)

SOURCE: Hi, I have a Peavey XR 1600D Power Mixer That has

It is a pain... After opening the unit you will probably have to remove a lot of the knobs and jack hardware and a few screws to allow moving the board away from the face to get to the sliders.

PLEASE NOTE that often the sliders have many leads and getting ALL the solder removed so that part can be lifted out. I use a special desoldering tool that uses a vacuum source. If one doesn't quite get all the solder and forces the part out, you can lift circuit traces... USUALLY solder wick does NOT work adequately to remove the solder.

HINT: Wiggle each lead to make sure it is free of solder to the board before prying slider out.

I have a Peavey XR 8600 PA, I have tried adding an external vocal effects module into a mic line but it drops the output volume of the entire PA by about 75%. Any ideas why this is?

Well, I would say it isn't dropping the level of "the whole pa", it is just dropping the level of the input you have plugged the fx into. Check the settings on your fx unit, there are usually input, output and mix controls that are independant of "the pa" and affect the amplitude of the signal going into your mixer from the fx unit.

I have a Peavey XR-600 PA Head, I would like to know if and how can I connect a MX 200 Dual Reverb Effects Processor to the PA Head?

If it has a effects loop output and input on the p.a. head and a in and out on the reverb effects processor, then yes you can, just run the effects loop output signal into the input on your reverb processor, out of the output back into the input effects loop on the p.a. head, kinda like you would a effects pedal thru the effects loop of a guitar amplifier. hope this helps!

Can I connect my peavey 600b amp to aux or to my existing hifi

If you connect the Main 1/4" out on the front to you HiFi aux input it should work. You will need to play with the volume controls to set the proper level so as not to overload the aux buss. The XR-600B manual is here-

How do I connect a rack mount effects processor to a Peavey 8600D mixer?

  1. On the front panel you want to take a 1/4" cable and plug it into the "main" (output), and then connect it to the input of your fx unit (left is usually mono, if not it will be marked). Then take the output (corresponding to the input) of the fx unit and put it in the power amp in. The 8600D is NOT a stereo unit (this is why there is only one main output).

I have just bought a peavey xr800f powered mixer but unable to get echo on mics any help would be appreciated thanks

There are SEVERAL things to set. First is setting the EFX mix for those channels you want the effects to be active. Next, select the effect you want AND the TIME for the effect and FINALLY the amount of the effect output to go to the MAIN and MONITOR outputs. Also the effect disable button below the effects needs to be in the correct state. ALL of these have to be set for using the effects on the mics.
