Noise comes when some part of the moving part is getting collided or getting stuck somewhere. Try cleaning the wash cycle and the rinse drum. It is the only cause of noise. Thank you, Sir to visit Fixya.

Agitator only moves a little bit and making noise

Most likely agitator dogs / gears are stripped out inside agitator. If it's a double action agitator where the top turns independently from the bottom, the top should turn one way and not the other. If top of agitator turns freely in either direction, then replace those dogs. If it's a single action agitator, then grooves that slide onto transmission shaft in agitator itself could be stripped out. If that's the case, replace agitator

WHIRLPOOL TOP LOAD WASHER MAKING GRINDING NOISE FOR AGITATION

When you put the motor in did you replace the coupler between the motor and transmission? When fixing the agitator you need to get the agitator repair kit, It has seals, dogs, thrust plate, cam bearing and seals. The upper agitator is supposed to move only in one direction to get the clothes to move down towards the agitator. Do not overload machine. I have one of these and after 12 years I finally had to install this upper repair kit because the upper agitator quit moving. You may have an agitate cam that is going bad inside the transmission

suspect noisy brake not a major concern but not a pleasant noise to listen to..best not try repairing yourself ..believe that may be a maytag version if so brake spring can be dangerous to release without proper tools
