Are you installing as administrator?

you could try:
Start->run
and type in the following line
regsvr32 "C:Program Files (x86)MasterCook 9ProgramMCWrap.dll"
or wherever the .dll path was
then try reinsalling.

When I installed it, I right clicked on the install file, and clicked RUN AS ADMINISTRATOR.

When I try to open a cookbook I get a dialog box saying Unable to create view: 'cbks'-'open'

I started receiving this same message today also. In addition, when I do a search by ingredient in the Search feature and try to open up the recipe I get the same message with the words 'Rcpe' - 'open' instead of the 'Cbks' - 'open'

Hello,

This problem can occur when one of the following conditions is true:
  • The file is not installed correctly.
  • The file is corrupted.
  • Other programs, including memory-resident and anti-virus programs, are running and using any version of the file.
Register the File Manually loadTOCNode(2, 'workaround'); To register a specific file again in the registry, while you are working in Microsoft Windows, follow these steps:
  1. Click Start and then click Run.
  2. In the Open box, type the following command, and then click OK RegSvr32 filenamewhere filename is the name of the file specified in Error 1904.
You should receive a message that the file is now correctly registered. If this doesn't fix your problem then go to http://support.microsoft.com/kb/237294 for further options.

Hope that this helps!

My problem with the Acer All-In-One Z5600 when trying to install HP All-In-One B110a Printer is that it does not continously installing the software to the my desktop. The screen always displayed like...

If it is an old printer there may not be a driver for it on your current operating system. Do a search from google and type Windows Vista/7 compatible driver for "your model" printer. I had the same problem once so i found a driver for another printer and it made mine work with windows 7.

I recently installed Bridge Baron 15 on a new laptop with Windows Vista and get the following upon startup 'Error reading Std Am with Strong Two Bids profile!' Any suggestions? I can't get beyond this to...

If You run this program using another account than that, which was used to install it on 64bit windows, your account registry is missing "Program Directory" setting:

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Great Game Products\Bridge Baron 15\Settings] "Program Directory"="C:\\Program Files (x86)\\Great Game Products\\Bridge Baron 15\\"

In that case program defaults to search hard coded c:\Program Files\ (instead of c:\Program Files (x86)\ directory)

I cannot open mastercook 5 without getting this error when trying to open. I am using Windows 7 64 bit.

Hello and thank you for using Fixya's services.

Unfortunately, Mastercook 5 is not compatible with Windows 7. There may be a work around but the only work around I found was for Mastercook 9.

From what I understand, it has been difficult for many to install Mastercook 5 & 6 on Windows Vista.

I did, however, included a link to MasterCooks blog in hopes that it can assist you with a work around.

Maybe the work around for MC9 in W7 will work for your version?

Hope this helps and please let me know if you have any questions.

Error message when installing QuickBooks 2005 to new 64 bit compu

Hello, I found this on another web site intuit community. I tried this and it works. A couple of people said they had to run this each time they signed on but i have not had to.

Welcome to the community forums. One thing that I notice with your error log is that all the missing files are .dll files. I would suggest running Reboot.bat which re-registers the QuickBooks .dll files.
Do a search on your computer for reboot.bat (there is a seperate one for each version) and run the reboot.bat that corresponds to version of QuickBooks you are having a problem with.

It worked for me and I am so happy because as stated QB not longer supports 2005.
