This is another MS nasty for all the deployment folks pushing XP SP3 to computers with UAA HD Audio devices. Yes SP3 will support the devices and the drivers are included however,, the patch IS NOT included! The update to KB835221, KB888111 doesn't link to the download but instructs you to call MS
Support to get the patch which doesn't work on SP3.

This patch is required before any of the HD device drivers are installed.

for details you can look at:

What operating system did you use? Is it windows xp, if it is. Try installing the service pack 3. This will detect all the hardware that has not been detected.

After installing xp service pack 3 my sound stopped working,i downloaded the realtek sound drivers and installed them, and it still doesnt work, any other solution you have?could an operating system mess...

What I could recon from your question is that your audio driver is not installed in your reformatted PC.

Please be informed that any Driver software depends upon the PC make, Motherboard type and Operating System. You need to know all the three information's to do get going.

Please refer the above image. It is clearly seen that your Laptop does not support Windows XP. It only supports Windows Vista or higher.
Thus I would request you to use Windows 7 as OS because all the hardware drivers are available for windows 7 by Toshiba including the Sound.

This is the Direct Driver Download link for your laptop. Here you need to select your Operating System (Windows7) and all the drivers will follow in the list below. Here you will also find windows XP but you will see that a lot of drivers are missing including the sound driver.
So, my suggestion is to upgrade to windows 7.
Good Luck.

How to solve ploblem it's error number 0xe0000227 realtek

here goes amed

There is really only 1 way to install the Realtek HD Audio drivers properly. No matter what all other forums say. Service Pack 3 is the main culprit as the drivers see that its above SP2 and dont install. I personally face this situation and was really distressed because it looked like either i will have to reinstall Windows Xp or have my new supercool and super monster computer without sound. Imagine having a monster PC with a motherboard with HD Audio and your driver doesnt install.
Both scenarios were something which i would never have approved of. Anyway so i Googled. I got 10s of solutions but most didnt work. Only 1 worked and i will put it here hoping that Google dear will catch it and people who face this problem installing the Realtek HD Audio 0xE000027.
  1. First Step is to make sure all instances Realtek Audio and its associative softwares are uninstalled from add remove programs and device manager. This includes Intel High Definition audio.
  2. On your PC change the CSDVersion registry key to Windows XP SP2:
    HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Windows\CSDVersion value=200
This problem arises as the patch thinks that SP3 includes a better version of the patch itself and hence doesn’t install itself.
3. Download the latest drivers from the Intel website, navigate to the KB888111 patch.
4. But before installing the patch, goto your device manager and disable the UAA. Now uninstall the UAA.
5. Install your patch now.
6. Install the Realtek drivers now and things should work.
7. Change the SP version to 300 again.
If it didnt work, try once again. Hopefully Error 0xE000027 is fixed now.

Audio driver problem after upgrading OS from Windows 98 to xp

You could also try:

Do you have Service Pak 2 installed, it has a lot of updated drivers.

Remove all audio devices in the control panel > System > Hardware tab > Device Manager. Then reboot and let XP redetect the audio hardware.

Another idea is to run Windows Update and see if there's an update to the driver.

Hope that helps...
