How do i install a replacement xl 2400 lamp within a housing unit into my sony wega kdf46e2000 tv??????

You can get them from many places but you want to get the lamp with housing most places only sell the bare lamp annd then you have to install the new lamp into your housing being careful not to touch the lamp . You can get the Sony XL2400 lamp with housing from www.tvrepairworld.com which is 159.00 and includes installation instructions which takes about 2 minutes and no special tools required when you get the lamp with housing as an assembly.

hello make sure the lamp and the cover is fitted securely, when you've done this the tv should be ok

Please make sure lamp cover is reinstalled securely after replacement of lamp in TV.
If lamp cover is not fixed properly, TV wont power up and red light will start blinking.

Installation is Quick and Easy:
In most cases, replacing your projection lamp is quick and easy. However, it is recommended that you consult your owner's manual for more detailed instructions:

Unplug your TV from your power outlet

Allow the lamp to cool for at least one (1) hour before replacing it

Remove the Lamp unit cover (Usually located at the rear of the television)

Unscrew the lamp housing unit

Remove the old lamp housing unit and discard

Screw in the new lamp housing unit

Place the cover back onto your TV unit Caution: Do NOT touch the bulb directly with your fingers.

the replacement bulb is a Sony XL-2400 But yours should definately be under warranty

no you should only replace a bulb with the one made for that brande t.v. you should put in a sony xl-2400 in your sony t.v. and yes you should get both housing and bulb in 1 i bought mine off ebay for about 116.00$ both lamp and housing very easy to replace good luck also if you have a sony kdf-42we655 or 50we655the lamp part # is xl-21oou or xl-2100
