In some old model av-amp, if the sampling freq. is 96KHz or
above, av-amp confines its playback in 2 channels only.
Check the sampling input source is 96KHz or not.

Or perform this test
(1)Download htr6130 service.
(2)Start the self-diag test
(3)follow the instructions written on p.25 to 33 to do the tests.

SOURCE: Yamaha HTR-6130 Front right and left speakers with no sound

As simple as this sounds, try hitting the speaker a/b button on the front of the unit, next to the headphone jack. I had the same problem, and was about to package the whole thing back up and go back to Best Buy when I hit this button and then the audio test worked.

SOURCE: HTR-6130 will not turn on

Hi

Does the receiver have a switch that allows you to turn off all the speakers?
If so,turn them off and see if the problem stays.

If it still kicks off then , one of the power amp outputs has failed and it will require some fixing

SOURCE: Front speakers no sound!

Most likely you have pressed the speaker AB switch, try pressing it again and see if it works.

SOURCE: how to hook up a xbox 360 console to my yamaha 6130 receiver

You will need an additional HDMI cord...you can get them without getting ripped off by purchasing at bluejeanscable.com.

Connect your HDMI out from the xbox to the receiver. Connect the additional HDMI cable to the "out" HDMI connection on the receiver and connect the other end of it to your TV.

SOURCE: yamaha HTR -6130 DTS?????

First, the sound source must also be in DTS. DTS is typically not the default audio selection on any DVDs that have that format...you'll have to select it.

Receiver displays Dolby Digital while watching TV, but only 2 front speakers work. This is the case on only certain TV stations. I have a Yamaha HTR-6130

Depending upon transmmission bit rate, if the transmission is > then 6130 bit rate it will automatically change to 'STRAIGHT' mode and in this mode only two front speaker will work.

HTR-6130 will not turn on

Remove all speakers from the receiver and try powering it up again. If it still shuts down odds are it needs repair of one of the output channels.

7.1

You can add speakers so long as your ohm load stays within the manufacture specks for safe operation but you will not have a true 7.1 system by definition.
