I bought a used Philips soundbar and i can not get it to work....any suggestions.?

The Philips CSS2123B/F7 uses a remote control to power on the sound bar. See the documentation here: https://www.usa.philips.com/c-p/CSS2123B_F7/soundbar-home-cinema-speakers/support . Otherwise, find a universal remote control that is compatible with the Philips sound bar. You may need to try multiple codes to get it to work.

I hope this helps. If the IR receiver is not working on this sound bar, then I'm not sure it's worth repairing the unit.

Be sure you have connected the audio OUT jacks from the TV to the audio IN jacks on the sound bar. People often connect them to the wrong jacks.

Be sure you are hooking up the Audio Output from the TV or satellite to the soundbar.

From the satellite box both Audio Output and Video Output go to the TV, and then Audio Output from the TV goes to the soundbar.
Or
From the satellite box Video Output goes to the TV and Audio Output goes to the soundbar.

Check the trouble shoot section in your ownwers manual. You did not give enough information to help you.

It basically has an Optical input, or a coaxial input. Use whichever input is available for you from your TV digital output, to the soundbar. If it still doesn't work, the soundbar is probably damaged. For more information, please visit my website at audioserviceclinic.com. Thank you.

You may have to go into the settings on the tv and turn off the internal speakers in order to get audio out of the jacks on back.

Same problem with my HTS8100. Little-to-no sound. Sometimes sound comes on very intermittently. I downloaded the software patch from the Philips website and installed it. This fixed the sound problem for about a week, then the problem came back. I'm not sure what else to do.

Have also just purchased a Philips HTS8140 with Philips LCD screen.
Found a result on web as follows:
1.Turn on TV
2.Turn on Sound Bar System.
3.Press eject.
4.Press 9 9 9 0 (0 being Region Free or place the desired region #)
(a message displaying "region 0",or the region you chose, will appear on the screen.)
5.Switch soundbar off to soundby.
6.Turn player back on and it should be either region free or the region you selected.

So far I have not been able to check with anyother disc exept region 4.
