Likely generic ink. Some ink manufacturers use cartridges with ink status. When it reaches empty it needs to be reset or have the chip replaced or overwritten. Generic refillers do not always reset the chip.

How do I get printer to finish process and start over to get it to work?

Just an innocent question: are you sure you are using proper cartidges? Didn't you mess them somehow?
If carteidges are ok, placed in proper slot, and your printer can't recognize the ink cartridge it's because you have some serious problem with ink cartridge or your printer. This problem can't be solved finishing a,process.
Try removing cartidges and preplace one, remove it and replace the other, maybe the problem is with oe of them

Brother MFC-9320cw printer has stopped printing because it is at 50,000 sheets fed & says it needs to 'Replace PF (print feed) kit'. It was feeding just fine. Brother says I have to go to an aut

(1) Open the printer and wait for the carriage to slide over. If for some reason it does not follow these instructions:
(a) Unplug the printer
(b) Manually slide the carriage over until you can get the ink cartridges out.
(2) Remove the ink cartridges from the print head.
(3) Use cotton swabs dipped in hot water or a mix of hot water and isopropyl alcohol to thoroughly clean the print head.
(4) Repeat this until there is no ink residue coming off on the cotton swab.
(5) Once finished, allow to dry and replace the cartridges
(6) Try to print something now

If that does not work then you have one of two possibilities:
(1) One of the ink cartridges is defective and causing the error
(2) If it's definitely not that, then the print head will need to be replaced.

Cartridge empty

What we have here is a failure to communicate. The printer's ink sensors are dirty. Open your ink door, pull all your ink carts, look inside there. You'll see black "U"-shaped plastic pieces. Those are the sensors and they use an electro-magnetic field to sense the ink. Because your ink is magnetic as well and there is ink polluting your sensors.

Anyway get a wet Q-TIP (moist) and maybe some pliars or hemostats and reach down in there and clean all around the inside of those sensors. Dry it up with a different Q-TIP.

If possible put your machine into Maintenance Mode and do a reset. Otherwise unplug and reboot your Printer/Scanner/Copier. That should do it even if it takes a couple tries cleaning or rebooting

Screen says drum near end

Drum for Brother MFC-6800 All in One Machine
You can expect it to print 12,000 Page Yield
Whats the difference between a DRUM and a TONER Cartridge? The toner cartridge is a cartridge holding the toner (ink). The drum does the work to transfer the ink to the paper. You will need to replace the drum every 5-6 toner cartridges you use.

Hp all in one 6180 won't print

Hello,

The ink cartridges included in the box are used to set up the printer. This type of ink cartridge is called a “host” cartridge. Once the printer has completed device initialization, they are marked as regular “trade” cartridges. This error only occurs if the printer has finished the device initialization process and one or more of the ink supplies inserted into the printer are a “host” supply.

Solution: The indicated ink cartridge(s) cannot be used after the device has undergone first-time setup. Once the product displays the message ' The following ink cartridges cannot be used after device initialization and must be replaced ', the designated host cartridge(s) (indicated by the color icon(s) on the display) that were rejected should be discarded or recycled and never used again. Replace the ink cartridge(s) with the appropriate “trade” ink cartridges for the HP All-in-One.

OK button.
3. Another menu with ink cartridge replacement. Press OK button.
4. Thats it, ink cartridges move to the changing position. Change your cartridge as you normally would and follow prompts on screen to finish process.
