On hp 4255, cannot accept incoming faxes but can still fax out. cartridge is original and very expensive - prefer to fix rather than buy new fax machine. Anyone fixed the problem?

Carefully read the user manual given with the AIO. Check the settings to keep the AIO in "FaxTel" or "Fax" mode to receive incoming faxes.

I have lexmark x7170 all in one printer and i can't receive faxes it says memory full but when i try clearing it it says no pending faxes so i cam't. What can i do?

This temporary storage of fax may happen when one of your cartridge is detected low ink level. Try to replace your low ink cartridge. Sadly, if you have navigated away from the fax menu after inserting a new cartridge or clearing the message, you may lose the fax. You can try to have the sender resend the message. When this problem happens again, just replace your cartridge without turning off your printer. Once inserted, accept the incoming fax message to print it.

Dark band on left hand side of incoming faxes

Your toner cartridge is leaking toner onto the transfer roller. There is no cure except for replacing the cartridge.

Fax tolling takes over incoming phone calls before the call can be answered. How can fax tolling be controlled?

The default setting for an Officejet 4255 is to answer the phone after 2 rings. You can change this setting to a higher number of rings which will give you time to answer the phone before the fax picks up.

The instructions you need to change the default answer setting can be found on page 47 of the user manual.

Hp office jet 4255 printer not printing anything or copying

ok..first try to make a copy and check if it copies fine or not..
if it copies then hardware is working fine..
turn off the laptop and unplug the USB cable..
turn on the laptop and wait for 5mins and then connect the USB cable..once the USB cable is connected do not try printing..wait for the hardware to get installed..
and then go to the printers folder and check if the printer icon says 0 ready..if it says then try printing..that should work

HP 920 Fax Half Lines

Try making a copy of something.
If the copy comes out the same way as your faxes, then the ink cartridge is either dirty or clogged.
You can try removing the cartridge and checking the bottom of it.
You can even wipe the bottom of the cartridge with some denatured alcohol.
If this doesnt work, then purchase a new cartridge and your problem should be solved.
Good luck.
Hope this helps.

PROBLEM WITH RECEIVING FAXES

You can't move to another planet unless you take me with you! A couple questions, please. Can you make a copy? Did you replace the cartridge with a NEW HP branded cartridge? BTW I've never left the States, but if I did NZ is the first place I want to see. Is it as great as I imagine it? Let me know the answers to the first 2 questions anyway Thanks, Ed
