With my Scanfront 220, when I hit the send button to send the scanned document I get aa notice saying "No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it" , then 10061.

I've tried turning off the machine, unplugging power and network cord, and then restarting, but no change. I haven't changed any settings or setup.

I'd check your Firewall settings on the computer. Is it set to listen to and accept data on the port that the ScanFront uses? If your router has a firewall feature, check if that port is not blocked. Port blocking is the default on many firewalls for data sent from another machine. The default FTP port is given on page 4-12 (page 55 of the PDF) of the user manual: https://files.canon-europe.com/files/soft03-48846/Manual/ScanFront_220_User_Manual_EN.pdf .

Less likely, you should also check the read/write permissions for the destination drive on the destination computer. For some scanning situations, you need to have a monitoring software running to "hear" the send request.

I hope this helps.

Did you leave it on for the week while you were gone? if so you may have built up **** on the vents of the wii and it will automatically shutdown and not come back on untill it's clear to avoid overheating. Make sure none of your wires are exposed or frayed cuz this will make it shut down too. and I know it's dumb but something the dumbest things can get ya, check that the wall outlet works by plugging lamp into it or something cuz i've had this happen to me. Oh and check and make sure all wires are connected very well

Most common failures in the LCD monitors are bad capacitors (bulging top/seal or leaking) in the power supply, blown fuses, failed inverter circuits (blown fuse, shorted transistors, shorted/open transformers), bad lamps (poor solder connections or worn out lamps). You will need to open it up and inspect the inside, see example of failed LG monitors to get some ideas what to look for: http://s807.photobucket.com/home/budm/allalbums
Post back what you see inside so we can guide you further and it will help out other people in the future also.

SOURCE: Ricoh Aficio 1027 stopped working

You were able to scan okay before? If you can print but not scan, generally it's a firewall or permission problem. You could try creating an exception for the Ricoh in your firewall software.

The folder that you scan to hasn't moved, has it? Is the path still exactly the same? Try turning off your firewall and/or anti-virus software and see if you can scan then.

Reset admin password on scanfront 220

The setting and password are stored in two files on the internal flashdrive. To reset the device, the two file have to be deleteted or renamed.
The Canon ScanFront 220 has a more or less normal PC mainbord with AMI-Bios.
To boot from a USB-Stick, connect a keyboard and press del while starting. You get access to the bios settings. Change the boot order to USB-hdd.
As a bootable USB-stick, I used an old 4GB stick, formated with fat32, made it bootable with https://rufus.ie/ and https://www.freedos.org/. I also copied norton commander on the stick for comfort.
Boot Freedos.
To navigate you will need the commands d:, cd, dir and rename.
Drive D: is now the internal Flash drive. Enter the DOCUMENT folder and rename/delete the file system.hv and in the folder DEFAULT the file user.hv.
Remove USB-stick and reboot.
Change the boot order back to hdd.
Done.
When rebooting in the internal system, the first step is to calibrate the touchscreen.
Have fun.

Edit: to rejuvenate the rubber wheels, soake them in alcohol.

We have this odd issue where although the machine has not gone to sleep it loses network connection consistently every 5 hours after non-use. Actually, we have 6 of these machines in our business and they...

I have many years experience repairing Canon scanners so here is my suggestion for you.

I have seen this problem before, what happens is when your computer goes to sleep it drops the connection to the scanner, its the computer that is causing the problem not the scanner. I suggest you turn off sleep mode. Also if your doing a lot of scanning with this model I would suggest a fresh reboot daily with this scanner. If you have any other questions let me know.

I hope this helps you out

Reinstalled printer after having desktop cleaned

Hello,
Your printer must must be connected to the computer. Does the MFC say Check connection? The Brother software must be installed. It creates a folder called ...\Control Center 3\Scan inside the user's My pictures folder where the scanned pictures are stored. That is what I get when I use the Scan button on my MFC-5460CN. If you use the Control Center you can choose the target storage location as well as the picture format (.pdf, jpg, etc.)

Hope it helps

I want to scan and email a document from my new HP DESKJET F4280 printer. I can scan it, and then I try to share it, but when I hit the send button it says there is no internet connection. Am I right in...

When you scan a document it must be scanned with OCR software. The default scanning method will scan a document as a picture, not a document with letters and words. The OCR software will recognize the letters and put the scanned document in the proper format to open it with MS Word. The software that you scan with should have a setting for OCR, read your instructions or help files to get the details if you can not find them very easy in the software you use for scanning. .

The problem with using Outlook may be that you have not set it up properly to get your emails from your email server. You do not need to use Outlook or Outlook express to send any documents, you can use your web based email server if you like, but you can use Outlook Express as well. You just need to add the document to send as an attachment to the email.

To set up Outlook Express to get your email, you must first find out what the POP3 and SMTP setting you must use. You can get that information from your email provider, it is different for every email provider. Then you go to the "File" menu at the top left of Outlook Express and select "Identities" and select "Add New Identity" and from there you will go thru a wizard to guide you thru the process of setting up your email client. Just make sure you have the POP3 and SMTP settings available for you to put into Outlook Express when prompted to in the wizard.
