I have a Sony BM 147 transcriber that beeps when you rewind, forward, play etc. I have new belts, opened it up, found the old belt. i need a diagram with the track of new belt. Where do i find that.

Probably has a bad sensor belt (small belt attached to silver and black reflective wheel).

No, this unit does not have an erase feature. You would need a magnetict tape eraser such as a BE10.

Just talked to Exec. Communication Systems. He said that the play motor is not turning (the rewind and fast forward uses a separate motor) and the problem is either the belt or the motor. They can repair them at $82.00 plus parts and shipping.

Its most likely the cam gear. Any sony dealer can replace the gear.

If there is no sound on a channel, and you know the recording is there, then you either have a bad head or a broken wire at the tape head.

This is a common symptom when the belt and pinch roller wear out. They will both need replacement.
