Take out the spark plug. Hold a drinking straw up to the spray nozzle and shoot the fog into the spark plug hole.

No spark can be attributed to two components; The stator or the trigger assembly. Even if you had a diagram (available online @ Mercury), you will still need a test harness,a DVA adapter and a meter to measure the resistance of the CDM's (capacitor discharge module) ,stator and trigger assembly. Best case fix would be the trigger, most expensive would be the stator. If you remove the flywheel, and inspect the stator, you can inspect the the coils that are coated with a white epoxy, and if one or more are bad, they sometimes leak a black resin, indicating the coil(s) have been shorted and no longer provide voltage for spark.

1976 115 hp mercury outboard motor manual

fuel goes in at connector then to fuel pump then to carbs ! remove connector off fuel line and prime fuel up so you know you got fuel ! then reconnect to engine and prime up again till you see filter filling and bulb should harden , then remove a drain screw from carb bowl and prime again and see if fuel comes out of all carb drains ! if yes then start engine with or in water with kill lanyard on if ok then good ! not then check sparks on all plugs putting them against the head for earth and crank to check ! if ok then i would remove carbs and clean the jets etc ! compressions 100psi or more on all cylinders ! less means recon pistons etc !

How to access carburetor for applying fogging oil in 1989 140 hp evinrude outboard?

The fogging oil does not go in the carb. It goes in the cylinders. You have to remove the spark plugs and spray the fogging oil into the cylinders. Turn the motor over a few times with the plugs out , respray and then replace the plugs. You are protecting the cylinder walls by doing this. hope this helps you. Jeepfxr

How do I winterize my Mercury 115hp outboard motor

add Stabil to the gas tank and run the engine for a few minutes so it gets into the carb. Then pull the plugs and spray fogging oil into each cylinder and then turn the engine over a few times. If you are in a cold climate you should drain the lower unit in case there is water in it and then refill it with new lower unit grease. reinstall the plugs and you will be ready for winter.
