Most likely, (1) it's an old worn out battery, low charge, poor or corroded cable connections. Inspect and clean them. You may want to jumper battery with your car battery. If problem persists, (2) check starter solenoid connections and output connections. (3) As a last culprit, it could be a bad starter. And make sure your engine is not frozen. (Take spark plugs out and turn the flywheel by hand).

Always check for fuel and spark first. Find out what you don't have and we'll go from there. The more info the better.

SOURCE: I have a 90 Horse power Mercury outboard Boat

Sounds like the starter. Check if you have power at the solenoid from the battery with just the power on (key turned on, power switch on.) thats good-- you have power-- if not you have a wiring problem from your battery or main switch.

Otherwise you have a starter problem probably.

SOURCE: 75 mercury boat motor not turning over

you have one of two problemsyour starter brushes are sticking or your solenoid is going bad next timme it happens take a hammer and lightly tap the starter if it turns over your starter is going bad if you try this repeatly and nothing then you have a bad solenoid they are not expensive if you do not want to tap the starter then just replace the solenoid the best way to find it is follow your main battery line to motor where it stops and breaks with two posts and then the hot goes to the sarter take a picture of it so if you need to take it with you u acn see where the wires go oriellys probally will have it is round and you battery will go to one post and the hot to the starter will go to the other there will be to little posts on it as well one to the key switch and the other is a groud

SOURCE: Our Yamaha 115 motor won’t tilt/lift. Clicking noise but nothing happens, boat battery is fully charged

Take of the tilt unit and take it apart, look for worn parts, or take it to a marine engineer. You probably need a new unit. There are two types though, hydraulic and manual.

There are videos and text in the link to help you. This is a well known problem by the looks of it.

Waterpump impeller 15 hp yamaha 2 stroke how hard to renew

It is not going to be hard at all. You will have to pull the lower unit which with a 15 horse motor will not be that hard, so you could probably do it by yourself. Mine is a 150 horse mercury and i normally have one other person help me.

I need to know the ratio of a gas and oil mix for a 1999 yamaha outboard motor 90 horse power already broke in...

I'am amazed it doesn't have an oil premix that gives it auto oil mix.If it doesn't than the mixture is 50/1.That is fuel /oil ratio.e.g. 50 litres of fuel to 1 litre of oil.Hope this helps
