Upside down image and only half showing on screen

this is a common problem... you are putting your disks upside down. Try flipping it over, and see if that works!

um... call sony and dont let your nephew touch it again lol

Get a TV repair man. If this is the old box type with cathode ray tube. use the dumpster and get a new one.

Turn off the PS3. Press the power on button (the system will beep) and hold it down for approximately 5 seconds until you hear a second beep. This will reset the video to the default. You should get a low resolution screen and be able to log on and reset the display to the desired settings.

Well you can just use the hdmi cable if you're going both audio and video in to your tv. With your hdmi cable you get the best quality for both.

But in anycase, it seems that your PS3 is set up to output video via HDMI cable. To reset our video output settings, simply power down your PS3 (turned off) and hold down the power button until you hear the second beep. (around 5-10 secs) Power back up and hopefully you'll have video via your av cable. Hope this helps.

This is very unusual and I've never come across it. I can only think there has been some type of software corruption as you can not put the screen in backwards or upside down.

all i can say is that it could be broken. the screen breaks easily or it could just be old

I just got off the phone with a guy from Nintendo and he told me to hold the Wii-mote upside down and gently clap it several times (5 to 10) and then try again. I did the same thing, I accidentally gave the controller a light whack when playing baseball and it stopped working. There is a censor in there that gets stuck.

unplug the unit from the wall and try it again.
