no MEDIA told at all in hand, my guess is its DVD-R (recordable media)
if your DVD ray does not show DVD-RW on the front then it can not play DVD-R, so upgrade that drive.
the tray front show what the drive can do beyond CD. look there first or remove the whole drive read

then on left pane. click drives
see your drive there, skip past HDD and see DVD drive, then click that on right pane is read and writes rules.

1: THE pC MUST HAVE A DVD DRIVE INSIDE FIRST.
2: THE pc MUST HAVE dVD drive and not cd only, AND MUST NOT BE BAD 16 YEAR OLD
THE DRIVE TRAY MUST BE MARKED DVD, NOT JUST CD .(a huge clue that)
3: THE DVD DRIVERS SOFTWARE LOADED . FROM ACER.
4: THE DVD DISK MUST BE FOR YOUR UNSTATED REGION.
5: THEN RUN VLC FREE APP AND IT RUNS.
