What is the weight and length of a 2005 Mercury 2 stroke long shaft boat motor?

Dont have the manual in front of me...recollect that there's two types of warnings. The pulsating warning is oil (starts with 30 minutes of oil left) or the fuel filter (or sperator, something like that) may have water in it. Running outboard with cover off, is a little black box that would have a red light lit if that's the case. If oil full & no red light, may be oil injection system...would also check to make sure lines aren't pinched, etc. Mine has been specific to oil the two times its gone off.

The full non-pulsating is engine overheat. Not sure beyond that.

The carberator is gravity fed and there is propbably gunk in it, when you give it more throttle, it needs more gas but can't get it. Then a build up of gas in the float bowl occurs and nothing works right. It has happened to me and its aggravating, do a complete rebuild on the carb or just replace it and you will be happier quicker.

is it carbureted or fuel injected? are your warning horns working? if it iscarbureted then a few easy test can be done to find out. if its fuel injected then its a little harder but not impossible.(1) check compression. without the year model I'm giving you a average numbers. all cylinders need to be over 100 lbs and equal each other within 5 lbs.(2) check spark. use a spark gap tester all cylinders should jump a half inch gap. if you have good compression and good spark fuel is the problem nine times out of ten. clean fuel lines replace primer bulb and replace all fuel filters. Yamaha has a gravity filter under the engine coul. take it to the lake if no improvement. clean carbs. same test to be and fuel system service used of fuel injected engines. if no improvement in engine preformance then you will have to take it to a dealer to test with computer.
