They probably cannot suggest running it on 'manual' due to liability reasons....leaving home for an extended time and forgetting its on manual...comes to mind.
What may be suggested is to make sure ANY and ALL safety controls still function to shut off fuel (pellet) flow in the manual mode as an extended overtemp condition is the first thing that comes to mind when you think of damage to a heating system or to the structure within which it is installed.
I think its a judgement call on your part once you determine you pretty well KNOW the full and complete operation of the device. The key to that statement is KNOWING WITHOUT A DOUBT the FULL operation of the system.
I also would NEVER recommend to a customer to operate it in the manual position.
Given that you have "Slot 1" sockets, you're already using "fast" 933Mhz CPUs -- you could possibly find a pair of 1000Mhz CPUs, or a pair of "slotket" adapters (Slot 1 on one edge, Socket 370 on one side) and connect a 1100 Mhz Socket 370 CPU to each slotket adapter.
That's a lot of money & work (if you can find the parts) to get a small "boost" from 933 Mhz to 1000 Mhz or to 1100 Mhz.
You might be better-off to add more RAM to your computer, or to buy a brand-new "twice-as-fast" computer.
