SOURCE: hdtv converter box to vcr
Hi Drtrippy,
If I understand correctly, you are using your VCR for the actual tuning of the TV.
The converter box itself contains a tuner, so you should now receive extra channels available only to an HD tuner. You should try connecting your antenna as input to the converter box. Then output the signal from your converter box to the VCR. Your VCR may then remain connected to your projector.
You may simply think of this as if you are inserting the converter box between your antenna and your VCR, which should be currently connected to receive an over-the-air signal. Remember, as the tuner you will be using is in the converter box, you will need to change channels using the converter box, not the VCR.
Thank you,
Jason,

SOURCE: Is my Toshiba TV digital or analog?
if there is a label on the tv stating any of these words “Integrated Digital Tuner,” “Digital Tuner Built-In,” “Digital Receiver,” or “Digital Tuner,” “DTV,” “ATSC,” or “HDTV” then yes
if they say “Digital Monitor” or “HDTV Monitor,” or as “Digital Ready” or “HDTV Ready" then no
SOURCE: Not picking up Digital signal from box but can receive it analog
So many factors could be affecting your reception.
Keep in mind that the digital signal is all or nothing, either you have a signal or you don't, with the regular signal you can pull in weak signals but you can't with digital.
Your converter box when turned on will probably not pick up the standard signal.
The distance from the digital signal and the direction the antenna is facing also will affect your signal.
Ok with that said you will have to clear the path between the broadcast signal and your antenna, I know this will be a chore but take your antanna out of the attic and put it outside as a test only, this dosnt mean you cant have it in the attic it will just be a signal test.
Once the antenna is moved, from the menu scan for channels and see what you get.
Let me know and I can help further.

SOURCE: built in tuner not working since digital transition
I do not know if you will get this message but if you do. Here goes. The protron PLTV3250 does indeed have a digital tuner that can be used with an over the air antenna. You need to push "source" on the remote until DTV is selected. With this selected and your coaxial cable from your antenna hooked up to the digital connector (not analog) on the back of this tv you can then press Menu and you will see a totally different looking menu that you are probably not used to seeing and then from there you can do an auto scan for the digital channels and it works great. I have rabbit ears hooked up to this Protron PLTV3250 and this has a beautiful picture. Far better than the picture I get from just the standard digital Directv receiver. You do not need a seperate digital tuner box to use with this TV. It does indeed have an ATSC digital tuner and it works great. You probably are selecting Source "TV" in the menu and that is not what you select for this TV to use the Digital Tuner. You need to select DTV from the source menu. Good luck and please let me know if you already knew this or if this helped you. Thanks, Tom
