Hi Andrew D Souza, for what you say, your remote control has problems with the volume up key, try to disassemble it and clean the contact plate, with a little liquid clean glass, you will observe, as a accumulation of residue of rubber, on the contacts on the plate of the remote control, clean and dry very well
DO NOT USE ANY TYPE OF ALCOHOL
Let it dry very well, then assemble it again and see if it is solved
Comment the results
Regards Franco Dosil

Saludos Franco Dosil

SOURCE: Yamaha DSP-A3090 7-Channel / Power + Volume Knob Problems

Well, found a unbelievable electronic repairman. He was not trained on the yamaha receiver but was very experienced in the field and said if I would pay $75 he would take a real look at it. He found the problem. It wasn't the power supply, it was quite simply two parts that had gone bad. It was the following parts, hopefully this will lead some others to the correct problem or atleast another idea to considcer when looking for the problem. First part was (2 each)
PN# LC75710NE, Price: $58.55 each, Second part was a Resistor, PN# R1.2W1.5, Price: $7.00. The receiver works like brand new.

If anyone wants to talk to this technician here is the contact info.

Universal Electronics, Phone# 251-414-3411 or
Fax# 251-414-3412

Thanks for all your previous help.

Rx-v565 code RAV293 Yamaha remote

The codes for the AV 293 remote to operate a Yamaha RXV565 receiver may vary depending on the specific model of the remote. Here are a few steps you can follow to program the AV 293 remote to work with your Yamaha RXV565 receiver:
  1. Turn on the Yamaha RXV565 receiver.
  2. Press and hold the "Power" and "Input" buttons on the AV 293 remote simultaneously until the red LED light flashes twice.
  3. Press the "Power" button on the AV 293 remote.
  4. Enter the three-digit code for your Yamaha RXV565 receiver using the number buttons on the remote. The code may be listed in the instruction manual for the AV 293 remote or you can try one of the following codes: 431, 439, 471, 478, 559, or 678.
  5. Press the "Input" button on the AV 293 remote to test the code. If the code is correct, the Yamaha RXV565 receiver should turn off. If the code is incorrect, the red LED light on the AV 293 remote will flash twice.
  6. Repeat the above steps to try a different code if necessary.
If you are unable to find the correct code or have any difficulty programming the AV 293 remote, you may need to consult the instruction manual or contact the manufacturer for assistance.

Need manufacturer's setup code for Yamaha AV Receiver RX-V373

Using 1056B03 universal remote from Time Warner. Several codes actually will turn the unit off and allow volume control. Or..I can turn on and volume control. Can't do both. I tried to use the receiver codes in the vcr mode, but the remote rejects receiver codes (i.e. only accepts vcr codes).

It looks like one or the other, not both.

Comcast remote

The volume keys should be working by default, but you may have volume punch through turned on (meaning the remote is sending signals for TV or CABLE volume function no matter what mode you are actually on). To unlock volume control for AUX mode, do the following:
1. Press and release AUX
2. Press and hold SETUP until the remote blinks twice
3. Type 993
4. Press and release VOL-
The remote should blink four times to confirm unlock.
