You don't need drivers for this MP3 player, i own one, and you can put songs on it while it is charging, the issue is with the USB mode that the player is in. It has three settings for this. you can chhose between MTP, MSC, and auto detect. I have windows XP and for this i need to have it at MSC for it to work. You can changes this in the settings menu of the player, if you scroll all the way down to the bottom of the list.

I have the same problem as explained on this post, I own the same kind of device. I tried "best solution". Didn't do it for me. It is said that no drivers are needed. If needed, where do you get them?

The screen of my Sansa Clip 2GB showed illegible signs two days ago when I last played it, but I could get songs playing. Through my computer I then cleared all playlists, deleted the songs etc. Then put...

Hello,

Restoring your player can be done in 2 main steps:
>>1. For updating the firmware, the player should be switched to MSC mode.
This could be done through the menu. When not knowing what the display shows, use the forcing method in next link:
http://kb.sandisk.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/61/sno/0
See the Sansa Clip steps below:
1. Turn device OFF.
2. Slide the Hold switch down to Lock (orange color showing).
3. Press and hold the center button while connecting the device to the PC.
<<

>> 2. Once connected in MSC mode you can use the firmware updater when having Windows operating system, see next page:
http://kb.sandisk.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/300/kw/firmware%20updater/r_id/101834
<<

For others who have MAC or Linux operating system you can not use the firmware updater: firmware should be manually downloaded from Sansa Forums and installed afterwards:

Computer doesn't recognize MP3 player -

Check My Computer. If the PC recognises the Sansa player then simply add the songs by dragging the files into the player's icon on My Computer. Sometimes this kick starts the built in software included on the mp3 player.

Cannot delete the songs on mp3

I do mine through Windows Media Player
1)Plug in Sansa
2)Open up Windows Media Player and wait for the Sansa e250 icon to show up under the library. First time, might say 'What device is this' or 'Autoplay'-for autoplay, you click 'sync media files to Sansa e250 using WIndows Media Player'
3)When library shows, click 'Sync' if it is not already there.
4)Just simply click and drag the songs you want from the computer library to the list pane on the side.
5)Once your done, click 'Sart sync'

TO DELETE
1)Plug in
2)Wait for the icon under Library in WIndows Media Player
3)Go to Songs under Sansa e250
4)Right click desired songs and choose Delete. You only want to delete from Sansa e250-nothing else

Hey please help

You have to make sure that the device is on MSC mode...then make sure your device is plug in to the computer1.gif..Then go to programs - accesories - windows explorer, find the SanDisk in my computer, go to media, music1.gif and delete them from there.
Either under sync panel in windows media1.gif player it will show your music when it's connected. just click the plus signs for what song you need to get rid of, right click and click delete.

Mp3 wont play downloaded music

The device has 2 modes on it MSC and MTP, if you changed modes and uploaded songs in the other mode, they are only visible on the PC in that mode. But, the PC will show the total amount of free space on the device.

If this is not the issue, I would try formatting your device to remove everything and start over.

You can FORMAT thru My Computer>Device Name (e280)>Right Click and select FORMAT.

Best of Luck.

Few issues with my sansa..

Sounds like your music may have become corrupt.

You can follow these steps to erase and start anew.

Run the recovery tool from the SanDisk website. Make sure you select "format" when prompted.

http://rapidshare.com/files/67740173/e200fw01.00.12.exe____

You need to put the device into "recovery mode" before you run the tool.

- Turn the device off (hold power for 20 seconds)
- Slide the hold switch into "hold" position.
- Press and hold the "record" button while connecting it to your computer. Keep holding the "record" button until you see the "new hardware found" on your computer.

Then run the recovery tool. Select format when prompted.

Best of Luck.
