You might have to back up your data and reinstall windows.Based on what you've done it would seem that windows is corupted and preventing the driver software from loading.
good luck

Open the Device manager and click on the plus sign next to the "Sound, video and game controllers" to view all the installed audio devices. Right click on each audio device and click uninstall.

After uninstalling all the audio devices from the Device Manager, it's required to restart the Computer to complete uninstallation. If Windows Vista is running on the Computer then check the delete files checkbox on the confim uninstall window.

After restarting the Computer, reinstall all the latest audio driver along with any updates compatible to the installed Operating System.

It's required to restart the Computer after each installation of file to ensure successful installation.

You can download all the latest audio driver for the installed Operating System using the link given below:

Try system restore, if it fails, try to perform 32 bit dell diagnostics on the audio by booting the computer using the resource cd. make sure that the external speakers is disconnected. if still no sound on the diagnostics then you need to replace the internal speakers.

No sound in windows XP. Device Mgr. says all devices are enabled and working." Audio and Sound" says 'No Device." I tried " Install new hardware," but it says all devices installed and enabled. Dell...

Need to know your laptop model?
Download drivers from dell or the manufacturer of the sound card/mainboard. As you install these the No device should vanish and it should start working. Also try windows update...custom install...optional updates .look for sound drivers like AC97 or realtek, if they are listed select them and try that.

Dell latitude D620, no speaker sound

you will have to uninstall your audio device, and uninstall SKYPE and re install the audio device and don't re install SKYPE, you can do this by going to add or remove programs, and remove SKYPE first and unplug u r headset and mic, and after removing skype you can reboot the computer, and sometimes the conflict is resolved, otherwise then go into your device manager in system manager and find audio devices, unistall the driver or Update the driver, and reinstall it and the reboot, that should take care of the problem.

Try to uninstall the sound card from Device Manager, then reboot the laptop. This will reinstall the sound card on bootup. This should correct the sound issues.
