The back-light inverter board should be checked. Check the voltage that comes to that board, from the TVs' main power supply regulator board. This might sound a little crazy but, i had the same problem with my rca 50 inch, and he changed the bulb. which are pretty $$$$$125.00 at my tv repair person cost. the real cast was $219.00.Hope this helps you
